Robert (Bob) Bauer is a respected Canadian composer, broadcaster, performer, arts administrator and educator. He worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for 30 years as a recording engineer and music producer, doing a mixture of national and regional programming. Bauer is one of the founders of two of Canada’s leading new music organizations - ArrayMusic in Toronto and Upstream in Halifax. He has been the artistic director and a performer with both groups and is currently co-artistic director of the Oscillations Festival of Electroacoustic Music and chair person of the Atlantic regional council of the Canadian Music Centre. His compositions have been heard across Canada in concert performances, broadcasts and recordings. His musical style incorporates elements of impressionism, pointillism, minimalism, world music, rock and jazz among others.
