A.K.A. Anthony Zummo was born and raised in the
"Empire State" of N.Y. As one of the founding fathers
of Strong Island Massiv,
Midnite has released numerous mixed tapes & CDs
including ("Dream Sequence", "Reformat", "West of
Babylon", "To Hell With It" & Four 8MM Mix Sessions
recordings live from the Redrum),
Three original tracks "Momentary Losses", "Hard" &
"Life Goes On" can be heard on the popular Drum n Bass
compilation;
"Interdimensional Drum N Bass".
Which Midnite has also co-mixed as apart of the
Stargazerz crew.
While in the NY area Midnite has mixed at numerous
parties representing such crews as Brooklyn Beats,
Stairway Productions, 8MM Mix sessions, and Strong
Island Massiv. Midnite made a name for himself by
going to parties whether it be huge or small and
starting all of his sets with original mash up mixes
of anything from Madonna, Pink Floyd, The Police to
common mashups of Micheal Jackson, and other hip hop
influences.
With Strong Island Massiv behind him, Midnite traveled
to Miami to meet up with Tom Laroc (Miami’s favorite
Hip-hop club DJ). Dropped some NY flavor on WOMB
Internet radio only to have UK’s own trip hop
mastermind TRICKY and MC MADDOG pop in unexpectedly.
Flowing off of Midnites mix, the two MC's spit lyrics
off of the new Tricky album before it even came out. A
tape of this show still floats around the Strong
Island studios as a collectable listen.
During a short relocation to California, Midnite
auditioned over the phone to be apart of "the hardest
drum n bass crew" on the West Coast, Junglist Militia.
Clover, the head of the militia listened for 30
minutes with a critical ear to an extensive and
intricate display of fast and accurate mashups and
mixes could only say:
"To posses the creativity to mix Pink Floyd with hard
step just to make people think that anything is
possible, is what we are looking for in the junglist
mind."-Clover
This new found collective family brought many
opportunities to get behind the one and two's. With a
headlining appearance at “kinetic energy” and two hour
long sets at “Megabuzz 5” it was clear where Midnite
was heading, To the top. After moving back to his home
state of New York, Midnite was the resident junglist
on the forever growing 8MM Mix Show, every Monday
night from 9-11pm located online at
http://www.strongisland.com/mix-show.htm
But now Living in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Midnite has
found a new atmosphere for his destructive beats and
resonating basslines to intrude upon. With producing
countless classic tracks such as “Step Correct”,
“Exorcism”, “Ruler” and “Altered” to name a few.
Midnite will surely be blowing up the decks with
original sounds at a party near you. Starting a Nation
wide movement of the lesser known talent that festers
beneath the popular skin of the mass DJ population
Midnite hopes to bring back the underground culture.
Giving everyone a chance to get dubs, get the spot
behind the decks regardless of the popularity of
whoever is competing with them there are no egos in
the coup de tat movement. The coup de tat movement is
a movement to promote smaller talents and bring them
into the limelight next. Whether it be production or
djing the cycle needs to continue or the scene will
become stagnant.
Big up the North American Junglist and keep an ear
open for the sounds of Midnite.
Will you be apart of the coup de tat or just be left
in the aftermath? You decide.

“DJ Midnite - UNTITLED
Kicks off original style with a sample of Sting
singing and then
goes predominantly old school with versions of
classics like 'Hot flame' by DJ Dextrous and 'R.I.P'
by Remarc and the classic 'Your Sound' remix by J.
Majik on Razor's edge. Also contains Dub
plate pressure track and an Aphrodite track or two.
Plenty of mash up amen thrown in with Ragga and Hip
hop and some
nice atmospheric tracks too. Mixing and sound quality
are there. If old school amen rinse out is your thing
this tape is for you.”

Mix It Column Review of "Reformat" Mix Tape
(Actual Review Below)
“DJ Midnite - Reformat
(Jungle/Long Island, NY) DJ Midnite hits it for the
flavor, funk and most importantly, the dance floor. It
is obvious that Midnite had the listener, dancer and
DJ in mind when he crafted Reformat. It’s a thick slab
of funky hip-hop and shake-it-mean jungle. With cuts
from rugged, Congo Natty, Metalheadz and Ruffneck
Records, this mix hits hard but with ubiquitous
underlying funk. Finally, a DJ that does it like a
dancer! He throws in the scratching, hits you with a
tricky break cut into a sample and blends beats that
were meant to be. Something for everyone and perfect
for whatever you’re doing in the jungle of your
midnight. *AS

Their influences come from all genres of music and this is portrayed within the sounds they make. Soulful vibes and rolling beats is a good combination. My name is Tom Shelbourne. I am origianlly from Exeter but I am currently at uni in Cardiff studying Music and Audio Electronic Systems. I really enjoy the life of a student but it all pretty much revolves around my music. I love drum n bass. I started producing about 7 months ago when I started uni in September. I liked drum n bass any way but when I came to Cardiff where the scene is alot bigger and I met other people in my halls of residents that also liked Drum n Bass, my love for it grew. Any spare minutes I get I will produce beats or even start a new song. I have currently got about 8 good songs and I want to put them onto my first album. All of my music is my own and I never use samples. I create all of the beats and make my own melodies, bass lines etc. The id which is the first song on this page is my best song.
Noize Komplaint ,
It all started back in 1998, I was first introduced to the underground music scene with the sounds of Nicky Blackmarket, B-Key, John Rolodex Goldie and many original drum and bass artists.
I realized I Had to be involved somehow with drum and bass in some way shape or form. So eventually I bought my first turntables, and became incredibly obsessed with mixing drum and bass, mostly playing house parties. But that wasn't enough. So we took it to the next level playing block parties, wharehouse parties, undergound clubs, headshop parties, and many other different venues.
But still this wasn't enough, I felt like there was something missing with my involvement to the scene. I realized just mixing drum and bass wasn't enough I needed to learn how drum and bass was produced, so I downloaded some crappy drum machine that could never be used to make a track, EVER! Eventually I became bored with only having the capability of making drums with such primitive software, I needed something more. My best friend Shayne (1nce Prodigal) Introduced me to the program reason, in which I found the program to have very little limitation, and was what I was looking for. With the right tools I was able to manipulate drum patterns as well as edit synth lines much better then I could of ever thought. With the influence from artists, Tech Itch, Raiden, B key, Dylin, John Rolodex I was quickly realizing my creativity with drum and bass was very productive ( In the sense that I was never not able to make a track.)
Currently teamed up with 1nce Prodigal we are making every effort to impact the scene with our music and our style of drum and bass.
