If you have a hound that you need to rehome, please contact Helen at helen@bassetrescuecalgary.com explaining your reasons for having to give up your pet, and also giving us some information on his/her personality. We don't demand a rehoming fee form relinquishers, but if you have the means to give us a donation to help with the cost of finding your pet a forever home it is greatly appreciated. Our vet bills are high, and often hounds need to be transported to their new homes, which all adds up for an organisation that relies soley on the help of volunteers and the generosity of basset lovers to keep going.
Important things to let us know would be if your pet is crate-trained or not, if he/she is uesd to children, is he/she good with other animals, does he/she have any health problems. This is to help us to find a loving, safe Forever Home for your pet, not for us to decide if we want to help or not. We are committed to finding matches for any dog, but we need you to be open with us so we can do that.
