For a video on how to do some of these:
Turn off aero theme:
i) Go to Control Panel --> Appearance & Personalization --> Personalization --> Windows Colour and Appearance
ii) Click on 'Open classic appearance properties for more color options'
iii) Click on 'Windows Classic', then click 'Apply', then click 'Ok'.
Change Visual Effects:
i) Go to Control Panel --> System & Maintenance --> System
ii) Then click on 'Advanced system settings' on the left.
iii) Click on 'Settings', under Performance
iiii) Click on the radio button 'Adjust for best performance', then click 'Apply', then click 'Ok'.
Disable Unwanted Startup Items:
i) Go to Run, and type in
msconfig
and click Enter
ii) Click on the tab 'startup'
iii) Untick the ones you dont need, then click 'Apply', then 'Ok'.
iiii) It will ask you to restart your computer. So click 'Restart Later'.
Change the start menu to classic:
i) Right click on Start button, then go to 'Properties'.
ii) Click on the radio button 'Classic Start Menu'.
iii) Then click 'Apply', Then click 'Ok'.
Turn off your screensaver:
i) Right click on your desktop, then go to 'Personalize'.
ii) Click on 'Screensaver'.
iii) Click on the drop-down menu, under 'screen saver', and click on '(None)'.
iiii) Then click 'Apply', then click 'Ok'.
Change your power options:
i) Go to Control Panel --> System & Maintenance --> Power Options
ii) Click on the radio button 'High Performance'
