Halloween Classic 2009

Sponsored by the Sterling Baseliners: October 24-25

Thanks to all who participated in the Baseliners' Halloween Classic Softball Decorating Contest.

There were many outstanding entries, both team and individual. Choosing the winners was no easy task!!  The winning entries best embodied the spirit of Halloween and the contest overall.  We considered the creativity, original use of softballs and the time and effort involved especially when it was evident that it was the efforts of the players themselves.

Winning team entries

Virginia Crushers 10U for their Pirate Ship  This was an incredible entry with lots of outstanding details and each individual ball was very well done.  Special kudos to the creators of the parrot and the pirate with treasure chest.

Loudoun Storm 10U for the cemetery shadowed by the  spooky tree. It was apparent that a lot of time and effort went into this entry.

Winning individual entries

Jillian Carr--Great Falls Sharks 12U--"Whoo's on First?  This owl was a clever play on words, nicely designed and well decorated.

Kiana Sherlund--Vienna Stars97 12U--Geico, Who's Watching Me?  Simple yet clever and funny.

Leah Shipp--Virginia Crushers 10U--Scarecrow  Excellent job on turning that ball into a Jack-O-Lantern head.

Leah Shipp's Scarecrow!

Again, thank you.  We hope everyone that participated had fun and we look forward to seeing next year's entries.
