 The history of Bartholomew

After many trips fishing with my stepdad, I was hooked, fishing for bass would be my primary target fish when ever I had the chance to get out on the water. Don't get me wrong, I like catching all fish, but the fight of a bass has got them all beat hands down. Bartholomew leaped out of the water and onto the drawing board after a trip I took on my own, with my stepdad's canoe and my ultralight rod and reel I set out for our favorite spot. After about ten minutes of tossing a topwater lure, this monster hawg just sucked it in like it was having a snack, that is until I crossed it's eyes with the hook set, then the fun really began. That fish dragged me around in that canoe for at least fifteen minutes, I had to be careful not to horse it in, seeing I only had 4 lb. test line on. Well, it tired and head dug itself into the weeds, another sticky wicket I had to deal with, I was not about to lose this fish. Now leaning over the side of the canoe as far as my arm would reach, I groped in the weeds, following the line down, almost falling overboard twice, I grabed it's gill and brought it out of the weeds. A 5.5 lb'er, the biggest one I ever caught to date, I admired it for a minute, then turned it loose. At work one day, I was thinking of that outting, picked up a pencil and just started doddling on a napkin, the rest is history........................
