The Club was founded in August 1985 and many of the founder members are still active in the Club. By 1990 the Club had grown to an extent where it could stage its first Rally , the now famous 'Yorkshire Pudding Rally'. This Rally ran for eight years and grew year on year , Barnsley Bikers eventually had to call it a day due to nervous exhaustion. European tours have been a regular feature with trips to France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy etc , and even Poland. The Club has entered teams in the National Rally on a regular basis and manned checkpoints for the event. Our Special Gold awards can be seen in the Pub where we meet. A successful moped racing team has grown out of the Club and these meetings are now regular events on the Calendar. We are now involved with the Barnsley Motorcycle Festival which features over 100 classic and modern bikes parading on Wombwell karting track in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
Throughout the life of the Club there has always been a great social atmosphere and this remains so today. Why not come along and see for yourself. We moved our 'clubhouse' from the Shaw Inn to Ardsley Lodge and then to the THE KEEL, at Stairfoot roundabout, where we meet on every other Wednesday at 8.30pm. Events
