DOB:

POSITION: Full Back/Midfielder/Player Manager
SUPPORTS: QPR
FAVOURITE BARNHILL PLAYER: Lee Clarke
PLAYER DESCRIPTION:
Dan has been with Barnhill for 5 seasons making an impact both on and off the field during this time.  Dan is a right sided player with a solid right foot and excellent eye for long passes and crosses.  A natural leader and organiser Dan is a good character to have in the squad.  Dan is a reliable person who loves playing for Barnhill, not only in the footballing sense but the social aspect that comes from playing alongside mates.  Has taken over from Terry with regards to picking the team and will look to give all squad members thier fair share of games.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com GLENN REARDON (C)
DOB:
20/03/1983
POSITION: Centre Back
SUPPORTS: Tottenham Hotspur
FAVOURITE BARNHILL PLAYER: Jimmy Bowden
PLAYER DESCRIPTION:
Reardon is now part of the furniture at Barnhill after proving his ability, work rate and reliability to the manager over the last few seasons. A very strong and determined player, Glenn has enormous confidence which has aided in his continual improvement as a player term by term - culminating in the obvious choice for Glenn being the 'Most Improved Player' nearly every season and winning 'Managers Player' last season.  His energy and defensive nouse make him an obvious selection for the manager.  Glenn very rarely lets his team down and you can always rely on him to give 100% in every match.  Glenn is a vocal player who helps call out the commands amongst the back four. Is now more involved in team selection since becoming captain.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com TONY GRANTHAM
DOB:
TBC
POSITION: Centre Back
SUPPORTS: Arsenal
FAVOURITE BARNHILL PLAYER: TBC
PLAYER DESCRIPTION:
Tony is yet another member of the Barnhill 'no-nonsense' brigade.  Tony likes to crunch into 50/50's and very rarely loses them.  A slender guy to look at but Tony is deceptively 'solid'.  Tony has come on leaps and bounds over the past 4 seasons.  Tony did leave Barnhill but returned to play Centre Back - a position that he made his own and still holds today.  Now a firm favourite with the manager Tony has developed into a decent player - culminating in Tony winning the Managers Player of the Year in 2004/05.  Tony loves his drink, Arsenal and more imortantly...(COT)inhibitions!

MATT DAYMAN
DOB:
TBC
POSITION: Full Back
SUPPORTS: Chelsea
FAVOURITE BARNHILL PLAYER: TBC
A new addition to the squad in 2005/06 and a stereotypical sunday league defender.  Matt loves to tackle, simple.  He often flies into 60/40 against situations and comes out on top. Matt has established himself as a favourite with his team mates who all show a keen admiration for no nonsense players such as Matt.  Expect to see Matt pick up a few yellows and maybe the odd red this term.

SCOTT REARDON
DOB:
TBC
POSITION: Centre Back/Midfielder
SUPPORTS: QPR
FAVOURITE BARNHILL PLAYER: TBC
PLAYER DESCRIPTION:
Scott 'the Barra Hall Beast' Reardon is a man mountain.  The term 'built like a bricked shithouse' is brandished far too often and far too easily.  However, this phrase doesn't do Scott justice. Nicknamed 'the Beast' Scott can play either centre midfield or centre back and plays in a calm and assured manner.  Scott doesnt over complicate things and plays within himself which makes him a vital assest to the squad. Scott will run through walls, forts and anyone that gets in his way. If he runs at you...you move.  Expect to see the beast become one of Barnhill's most popular and consistent players. "FEED THE BEAST!"

DOB:
TBC
POSITION: Striker/Midfielder/Full Back
SUPPORTS: Tottenham Hotspur
FAVOURITE BARNHILL PLAYER: TBC
PLAYER DESCRIPTION:
Ben has now been with Barnhill since the 2004/05 season.  Ben is the youngest member of the squd and has shown great versatility since joinging the club. Ben has played in a whole variety of positions - recently helping out and impressing in goal! Ben has a sweet strike of the ball and can be a threat from set pieces with his deliveries.  Can, depending on fitness, be one of Barnhills quickest players.  Ben likes to keep the ball on the deck and this helps Barnhill keep posession.  Expect Ben to get better as he gets older and develops a physique to cope with the physicality of mens football.

MIDFIELDERS

Image hosted by Photobucket.com JAMIE MONTERO
DOB:
11/08/1983
POSITION: Holding Midfielder
SUPPORTS: Chelsea
FAVOURITE BARNHILL PLAYER: Sam Montero
PLAYER DESCRIPTION:
'Monty' was a new and exciting Barnhill addition for the 2005/06 season.  A self confessed hard-working, 'crunching' tackler and all-round team player.  Monty hates to lose and is always prepared meticulously to a professional standard every game.  Monty has slotted in 'like a glove' and has been involved in Barnhill proceedings on and off the field.  Jamie is the 'co-founder' of this website, so already you can see that Monty has adapted like a 'fish to water' with life at Barnhill.  Monty is always hungry to succeed and is looking for a 'top end of the table finish with at least a cup'.  Monty will support his team mates whatever the cause and that's what you need from a competitive midfielder who loves to play the holding role in Barnhills midfield. "Marc Overmars!"
Image hosted by Photobucket.com LEWIS PIKE
DOB:
07/12/1979
POSITION: Midfielder/Club Secretary
SUPPORTS: Chelsea
FAVOURITE BARNHILL PLAYER: Lee Clarke
PLAYER DESCRIPTION:
Lewis has played for Barnhill since the 2004/05 season.  Yet again, another member of the Barnhill no nonsense brigade Lewis loves to munch people.  He's a self-confessed 'muncher'.  Lewis always gives 100% for his team.  His time at Barnhill has been dogged with injury and spats with former manager Terry Welch.  Since Terry's departure Lewis has been pivotal in the day to day running of the team affairs on and off the pitch.  He's recently been appointed Club Secretary.  Expect Lewis to make many energy sapping runs this season that culminate in a crunching tackle!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com GAVIN BYRNE
DOB:
TBC
POSITION: Midfielder
SUPPORTS: Watford
FAVOURITE BARNHILL PLAYER: TBC
PLAYER DESCRIPTION:
Gavin arrive at Barnhill and staked his claim for a first team birth with a string of gutsy performances.  The elder statesman of the squad, Gavin is a good passing footballer who always gives 110%.  Gaving likes to link up with the forwards and making bursting runs into the oppositions box.  Gavin is an all round nice guy who is keen to help out with off the field matters. Just like his younger brother Gavin likes to work hard and battle for the ball.  Expect to see Gavin enjoy a more advanced midfield role this season.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com LEE CLARKE
DOB:
04/12/1979
POSITION: Midfielder
SUPPORTS: Arsenal
FAVOURITE BARNHILL PLAYER: Tom Farrell
PLAYER DESCRIPTION:
'Clarkey' is one of Barnhills most popular players.  He has a natural ability on the ball and is always assured whilst in posession.  Lee has the natural ability/skill to beat players and trick the opposition with a deft range of passing and vision.  Like many players at Barnhill Lee likes the odd tipple, thus hindering his ability to stay fit for prolonged periods of time.  A fit and trim Lee Clarke is a frightening and exciting thought!!  Lee has recently been labelled with the nickname "Cannalager" after world cup winning captain, Fabio Cannavaro for his performances at centre back during training.  In more recent years Lee's style has been liken to that of Paul Gascoinge aka "Gazza".

STRIKERS

Image hosted by Photobucket.com SAM RUTHERFORD
DOB:
19/04/1983
POSITION: Winger/Forward
SUPPORTS: QPR
FAVOURITE BARNHILL PLAYER: Lewis Pike
PLAYER DESCRIPTION:
Sam has been with Barnhill for 2 seasons featuring sparadically in the 2004/05 campaign due to University commitments - where he was captain of the Essex University 2nd team.  Now looking forward to a 2nd full season at Barnhill and should feature prominantly in the Managers thoughts in the new looking 4-3-3 formation.  Has a solid right foot and good crossing/corner taking option.  Sam accepts that he needs to work on his defending and heading but slide tackles in pre-season suggest more commitment in the tackle this season.  Expect to see Sam create good movement off the ball and work tirelessly for 90 minutes.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com JIMMY BOWDEN
DOB:
TBC
POSITION: Midfielder/Centre Back/Striker
SUPPORTS: Aston Villa
FAVOURITE BARNHILL PLAYER: TBC
PLAYER DESCRIPTION:
A genuinely nice bloke.  Jimmy is a very talented, versatile and modest player who can perform to a high standard in almost any position. Some would say that Jimmy is the best 'footballer' at Barnhill and his performances for Barnhill since he's been here only underline this claim.  A good striker of the football you can always expect Jimmy to score goals from any position he plays.  Starting off as a striker at Barnhill Jimmy played in a midfield role in 2005/06 which allowed him to have an impact on both defensive and attacking aspects of our play.  Jimmy can often be frustrated when he's not playing well and sets himself, and expects, very high standards.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com ANDREW BYRNE
DOB:
23/04/81
POSITION: Full Back/Winger/Striker/Assistant Manager
SUPPORTS: Crewe Alexandra
FAVOURITE BARNHILL PLAYER: Jimmy Bowden
PLAYER DESCRIPTION:
'Byrnie' has been with the club since it was formed back in 2000.  Andy has been pretty much been an ever-present since.  A very quick player over the first 20 yards, expect to see Andy 'skin' a collection of un-suspecting full backs this season.  Andy has the type of pace and ball dribbling ability that can quickly turn games.  Due to his size Andy is often the target of heavy and often late tackles from the oppostion, resulting in frequent penalties being awarded in our favour.  Byrnie also loves to tackle and enjoys the challenge in both the attacking and defending sense of the word.  Elected treasurer of Barnhill in 2005, Andy is a very popular person within the dressing room.  An all round nice guy.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com TOM FARRELL
DOB:
07/05/1984
POSITION: Striker
SUPPORTS: Crystal Palace
FAVOURITE BARNHILL PLAYER: Lee Clarke
PLAYER DESCRIPTION:
Tom is the typical English style 'target man'. His qualities are heading, hold-up play and finishing.  Tom loves nothing more than crosses into the box and can become easily frustrated when crosses fail to come his way - "just get it in there!" is the cry.  He's a proven goalscorer and has been consistently banging in the goals since joing Barnhill.  Rated by both his own players and the manager, Tom was awarded the Managers Player of the Year in the 2003/04 campaign and Players Player in 2005/06.  Tom is relishing the opportunity to play alongside Jimmy this year so expect to see the goals start flying in, as always.  Has had injury probelms in the past campaigns so Tom is looking forward to an injury free season - fingers crossed Tom.  A reliable and loyal member of the squad who has high aspirations for silverware this term.
