BARKING RAVEN PRESS was founded by artist/writer Ken Boesem in 2002 to serve as an independent publisher of quality small press publications. Since that time we have produced over five publications and garnered positive local and national press in publications as varied as the Vancouver Sun, Broken Pencil and Geist magazines.
Our mission is to produce attractive, accessible, entertaining and thought-provoking publications for discerning consumers of narrative art.
BARKING RAVEN PRESS is a proudly small publishing company. Like our namesake, we strive to be smarter and sleeker than your average bird and, although we may not be huge, we like to think our voice stands out.
Our authors and illustrators are available for appearances and signings. Interested parties should contact us for more information.
Please feel free to browse the site and see what we’re all about. And by heck…order some books when you’re done.
We encourage you to seek out alternative & small press comix, zines and chapbooks wherever you can find them. Most importantly, seek out the independent bookstores and other outlets that carry them, as those businesses continue to be an integral link joining those of us who toil in relative commercial obscurity with the reading public. In many cases it's the only way new readers have of discovering our good works outside of word-of-mouth and happy accident.
For further information or questions about BARKING RAVEN PRESS, its publications and creators, please feel free to contact us directly.
