MY SIGHTINGS:
I have decided to give details here of most of my main sightings and also there will be a section for UFO-related sites!
My most recent sighting first:
BLACK BOX SIGHTING OVER ELY:
I saw something very weird and unidentified yesterday (Dec 30, 2003) late afternoon around 4pm. I was waiting for the bus, the sky was overcast and mostly grey clouds so not a good day for observing much in the sky. I noticed a very dark or black object moving across slowly in the sky to the west of where I was. At first I thought it was a large bird, maybe a hawk but then changed my mind cos it wasn't bird-shaped but more like a black oblong box. It seemed at about the height birds fly at or low flying aircraft. Anyway it carried on moving and stopped at one point and then carried on getting smaller as it went into the distance and became a black dot before it vanished out of sight. There was no one else at the bus stop to give an opinion on it but I have never seen anything like it before. The only possible explanation I can come up with besides it being a UFO is that it was a helicopter, cos they go at about the same speed and can stop to hover, and maybe cos of the cloud I couldn't see it properly? However, if it was a helicopter there should have been lights and a sound and there were none! And if it was a helicopter it was a black one! It's a total mystery to me!
MULTIPLE WITNESS SIGHTING:
I can't be sure of the year cos it was about 12 years back but the sighting was an interesting one because again it was in Ely, but this time there were other witnesses.
A guy I knew called Ralph, who lived in the neighborhood, called to ask if myself and my companions had seen what was going on in the sky outside. I went out the back garden accompanied by Ralph and my friends Janice Pugsley and Neill Morgan aka Pixi, and looking up we could all see a large number of moving starlike objects going across directly overhead. If there had been one or two even, I would have concluded that they were satellites but there were too many for this. Also they were not shooting stars because the speed was far too slow.
DAYTIME SIGHTING:
It was back in 1978 and a bright sunny Sunday in late summer. It would have been around noon and the location was Richmond Road, Roath, Cardiff. I had gone out the back to take some washing in off the line, and looking up to the sky I caught sight of a silvery rugby-ball-shaped object glinting in the sunlight and moving straight overhead at a fairly slow speed. Because the weather was so fine I could see it clearly but I lost sight of it when it went over the roof of the house.
WARMINSTER SIGHTING:
It was late August or the first week in September, 1979 and I had been dropped off at Bath in the West Country, whilst trying to hitchhike to Warminster, a town famous for UFO activity. It was late at night and the traffic had become a lot less and also it is hard getting lifts at night so I had given up and was walking onward. At about 2am about 5 miles from Warminster I was still walking when I saw 2 orange orbs of light moving across over the fields on my right. As soon as I stopped they changed direction and came towards me until they were right above me and I could see huge balls of orange light with some sort of red fire circling them. There were no cars on the country road by then and all was deserted. I didn't feel afraid but I did feel that I was being watched and that they knew about me. It was a matter of me watching them watching me. Nothing more seemed to be happening and after some minutes I thought I had better make a move. As soon as I started to walk the 2 objects left their positions and moved back over to their original course and soon disappeared out of view.
THE FLYING CROSS
The year would have been 1972 or '73 and I had just finished at college for the day. I was walking to a local pub, which I seem to remember as the 3 Horseshoes. It was near to Gabalfa Flyover interchange in Cardiff. As I got to the street where the pub is I could see a man looking up at the sky. I did likewise and saw 3 or 4 moving star-like objects. They changed positions and would blink out and come back so it was hard to say for sure how many there were. I asked the man what he thought they were and he said he hadn't a clue but he'd had enough and was going. I continued to watch for a while and can distinctly remember that there was also a helicopter in the sky. When I got home later on to the shared house I was living in I told the other guys I lived with what I had just seen. One of them told me that sightings of a 'flying cross' had been on the national news, and so this was what I must have seen.
