Wealth and fame have always had their privileges, like, for example, misbehaving with impunity. Perhaps nowhere has this been truer than in the gay demimonde. Historically, the gilded enclave of Hollywood has always been rife with homosexuals. Icons such as Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Montgomery Clift, and Rock Hudson all lived double lives, trysting secretly with each other or with handpicked groupies, all the while hiding their sexual proclivities behind their blinding public image.

Billy and Alec Baldwin are so pro-gay, but their brother Stephen who played a straight guy in a love triangle with a gay guy in the 1994 moive “Threesome” definitely isn’t. What gives? Stephen, was “born again” after 9/11. Unfortunately, his politics also took a decidedly conservative turn. He even endorsed far-right anti-gay nut-bag Sam Brownback for president last year, despite the fact that Brownback doesn’t believe in evolution. Meanwhile, Billy, who currently plays a politician in love with a transgender character (played by Candis Cayne, the first openly transgender actor in a regular TV role) on ABC’s Dirty Sexy Money, is famously liberal, just like his brother Alec.

Livin' the Vida Papa

According to his Publicist, singer Ricky Martin, 36, (pictured upper left) best known for his song “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” has become the father of twin boys, born to a surrogate mother. Martin has not revealed the boys’ names or the location of their births, but said they are healthy, People Magazine reported Wednesday.
“The children, delivered via gestational surrogacy, are healthy and already under Ricky’s full-time care,” a spokesman for Martin said in a statement. “Ricky is elated to begin this new chapter in his life as a parent and will be spending the remainder of the year out of the public spotlight in order to spend time with his children.”

Craig Hand Strips

Playgirl magazine will release its annual country music issue next month, with singer Craig Hand on the cover. “It came about last year,” Craig, 29, explained. “I was talking to my publicist, Kirt Webster, and he had mentioned it to me. He said, ‘Send me a couple of pictures and maybe we can get you in it.’ I didn’t make it last year “This year Kirt called back and said, ‘Still interested?’ ‘Yeah, love to!’ ” Craig flew from his home in St. Augustine, Fla., to Nashville during Country Radio Seminar for the photo shoot. “A couple of weeks later, I got a call from the photographer and he said I made the cover.”

He may not have been named to the U.S. Olympic gymnastics squad, but Guillermo Alvarez has been raising our eye brows ever since the 2006 World Championships in Denmark. The 25-year-old Alvarez does a little bit of everything, with his favorite being the floor exercise. One of our favorites as well as we love to watch him spin. Watching him twist his sinewy muscles around the high bar with a hard dismount isn’t so bad either. Alvarez graduated from the University of Minnesota back in 2005. That year he earned NCAA Nissen-Emery Award, given to the top senior male gymnast in the country. That year at the Big Ten Championships he finished third in the All-Around competition and took home the title in the vault.

If there’s any remaining doubt about Lindsay Lohan and girlfriend Samantha Ronson being totally out of the closet, how’s this for confirmation: A make-out session at New York’s most notorious gay bar. Granted, “The Cock” tend to attract largely gays of the male persuasion, and DJ Ronson appears to have been there at least partly to satisfy her interest in the turntables and music (see picture, via Twerking). Also, it’s in the East Village, which the couple have been haunting lately.

Once known for his role in “Baywatch”, Jaason Simmons is now making waves as one of the few openly-gay actors in Hollywood. He spoke with Peter Hackney. When he first started acting, Jason Simmons wanted to stand out a little. So he added an extra ‘a’ to his name and became Jaason Simmons. Maybe it helped, because he soon found himself on Australian sun-and-surf soap opera Paradise Beach, which in 1993 became the first Aussie soap to screen on prime time US TV.
