The Bay Area Partnership’s mission is to advance the well being of the San Francisco Bay Area’s children, youth, families, and their communities. With a special focus on the region’s lowest-income neighborhoods, BAP’s unique membership unites local, state and federal government, philanthropic, community, education, and business partners to:

  • Identify highest-priority goals for regional and community improvement;
  • Leverage existing resources to address community challenges;
  • Build and support local partnerships for action and advocacy; and
  • Bring local, state and federal policy makers together with communities to improve the way programs and funding are delivered and implemented.

The Bay Area Partnership, together with its partners, has identified roughly fifty communities in the region that have the highest number of low-income residents and suffer from the most persistent poverty. All of BAP’s work centers around bringing resources to these targeted communities, and addressing the policy issues that impact sustainable community change.

The Bay Area Partnership Membership The BAP Board of Directors and Membership, which includes county supervisors, state legislators, state agency representatives, federal agency representatives as well as community, school, business and foundation leaders, are actively engaged with BAP's efforts and provide critical connections to and leadership in the targeted communities.
