Chickens in Kent
Here at 'Hen House Poultry' we are passionate about chickens. We keep and breed several purebreeds which are bred for vigour, hardiness and interesting colours. All Bantams - Marans, Black-Red Araucanas, Anconas, Japanese and Pekins.
Plus
Hybrid Layers are available all year round - These are sold at point of lay and are bred for excellent egg production and friendliness too. Please see the Chickens for Sale page for further details.
Next batch of hybrid layers are ready now - some beautiful Fenning Blacks, otherwise known as Rhode Rocks. These are just coming into lay now.

News
Throughout most of the year we hatch small batches of our purebreeds which are usually ready for sale at around 8-12 weeks old. So if you are looking for a few bantams for your garden, you know where to call.
This is our first hatch for 2009. Picture taken 5th January.
The web site is constantly being updated, so do be sure to check it regularly.
Layers. The 'chickens for sale' page shows the availability and prices for the best range of layers to be found in Kent. These tend to sell out really quickly, but we do get a new batch in every four weeks.
Purebreeds. We hatch out purebreeds all year round, so just call to order or to find out availability.
Articles. Several more useful and practical articles have recently been loaded onto the articles page. These give many tips for poultry husbandry and as our moto says 'Good Husbandry = Healthy Hens'
Accessories. The main accessories page is having a much needed overhaul, but we now stock more choice of feeders, drinkers and other accessories than ever. There is a temporary feeder & drinker page which shows a small selection of what we do.
Housing. Our poultry housing is proving to be very popular and as a result an even more extensive range is available now.
