The Million Pennies Appeal was unofficially launched in Summer 2005 with an aim to raise money towards restoration of Bank Hall and the new visitor centre. In late Spring 2006 the Million Pennies Appeal was officially launched.
The idea of collecting the pennies is eco friendly as supporters where asked to save up pennies in glass jars and then bring them to the events once they where full. This was an aim to recycle jars and reduce the cost of the appeal so that 100% of the money would go to the Bank Hall Restoration Fund by not producing charity containers.
If you would like to help then you can get a sticker from a Bank Hall member or by asking on an Open Day at the Visitor Centre.
Just add the sticker to an old jam jar and start saving!
Please re-visit the site to check on the progress of the Million Pennies.
The Moment in time Appeal was launched in 2008 to mark the 400 years of present building of Bank Hall.
The Appeal aims at raising funds to restore the clocks on the North and South facing walls of the clock tower. This shall include a brand new clock face for the North Clock, New Hands for both clocks and new mechanisms to run them both on.
We are looking for either individuals, groups or companys to sponser a "moment in time". They shall recieve a certificate and their name or group/company name shall be recorded in a special log book for future reference.
