Bangor Rangers 2 - 0 Crumlin Rec

After two weeks of inactivity Bangor Rangers got back to winning ways on Saturday when they defeated Crumlin Rec 2-0 at Bangor Sportsplex.

The game was played on a bumpy pitch with a cross wind which made it difficult for both teams to get the ball down and play.

Rangers had the upper hand in the game and could have scored as early as the first minute when Maxwell had a lob saved by the Crumlin keeper.  Also in the first minute Wilson got on the end of a cross but put his effort over the bar.

Rangers continued to dominate and should have scored when after a good cross from Wilson, Mitchell headed down for Maxwell to fire his shot straight into the mid rift of the Crumlin keeper.

Rangers took the lead on 30 minutes when Mitchell put Mayne through on goal, his shot hit the inside of the post but Maxwell reacted well to finish from a tight angle.  Half-time 1‑0.

The second half was the same as the first with Rangers creating chances.  Wilson got on the end of a cross from Williams but his header was well saved.  The second goal arrived when Williams scored to make the game safe.

Team:  Sinclair, Smith, Beckett, Newberry (Capt), McCready, Beckett, Mitchell, Mayne, Willis (Scott, 80 mins), Wilson (Bowater, 80 mins), Maxwell (Williams, 67 mins), Rice
