Classes Just like Hogwarts, there are classes here at Banana Fritters. These classes are not mandatory although they give a more life-like air throughout the RPG. Each class consists of RolePlays set by the professor. They start the class through RP and the students come and go as they please throughout one week. Each lesson is stretched out during a span of 7 days. The week starts on Monday and it ends Sunday. While in the class, the teacher will post the lesson and homework on the 'board' and discuss it. Remember everything must be done in RolePlay. Here is an example of a class that starts on Monday: "Good morning, class," the teacher greeted the students. She turned towards the chalkboard, scribbling down the lesson and homework. "We will be learning about the potion, Felix Felicis. Does anyone know anything about this potion?" Professor Holly asked. Her bright green eyes scanned the room for a student's raised hand. Glancing towards the First Years, she gave them a reassuring smile. That was a really bad version. -.-;; It just needs to consist of the normal RolePlaying Introductions and such. And yes, I know. It does not follow the rules set for the forums but I'm lazy. Being a Professor If you are already a canon professor, you do not need to apply for the position. As soon as you register your character, you are allowed to say that you are a professor. If you are a made-up character, you can not say that you are a professor in your registration. After your character is approved, PM the Head Mistress asking to be a professor. Please note that each professor teaches one term and they must sign-up again. Each professor needs to be very active and capable of making 40 lessons per term. Each level gets a lesson each week for one term. Please include this form in the Personal Message: After you are approved, you may be a professor. If you were not, please try next term or alter your application and send it again. Once you are a professor, you may edit your Profile so it says that you are a Professor. Now that you are, you may go to your classroom and start your lesson. Please make sure that your lesson matches the term week. If it is Term Three, and you just because a professor, you need to have three lessons going on at the same time to balance the amount of grades needed per term. Please note that each student must have ten grades per term for your class. During each class, before you start the lesson, you will post up a OOC post with a list of students, their houses and current year. Please use their Character Name, not their Name. An example is provided below: Ooc;; Students in the Class: Students Classes are not mandatory for students. Each year, a student must complete a certain amount of grades if they take classes. Below a list of classes needed to be taken by each year: Classes are divided into four different categories/level: Students will take classes according to their year and level. Students that want to take classes must take classes each term. As a First Year, you choose the 2 main classes you would like to take. These classes will not change. As you go up an year, you will only gain more classes. If you chose Transfiguration and Charms as your two main classes in First Year, and you are a Second Year, you will have Transfiguration, Charms and one other class that you chose. Remember that your character does not age so that means they do not move up or graduate onto the next year. To apply for a class, just send a PM to the professor of the class and ask to join. Provide your Name, Character Name, Year, Level, and House. Your Character Name will be posted before each lesson to allow you to participate. Please note: Students that are not registered in that particular class may not post in the topic/thread. Only students that applied for that class and got accepted are allowed to post. During Classes During classes, students and teachers will RolePlay back and forth like any other RolePlay. Please make sure the lesson is discussed and explained in some form or another.
Each student must be graded by the professor of the class by the end of the week. The student is graded on their participation (RPing) and homework. Each student must either PM the homework to the teacher or post the homework as a reply. Below is the rubric used: After the professor grades each student, he/she may close the topic and post up the grades each student recieved. Post the Character Name, House, Year, Numerical Grade. An example is shown below: After the professor posts that, they must send the information to the Head Mistress so she can give the HPs to each house. Remember that each week must have one lesson and one homework. Recieving Grades Each week, each student recieves a grade in their class. They must update their Gradebook each time they do recieve one. Each student may only go to one class once in that same year. They may take different classes but they can not redo their class. If for any reason, they recieved a 'Poor' or below on a majority of their grades, they may redo the class. Note Remember that the year you register your character in is the year that they will follow. Graduates who would like to take classes will be considered a Seventh Year and take classes with them.
Each term, students are required to take an exam. These exams are similar to the classes except the teacher will post the exam on the board and students will complete the exam. The students will send the answers to the teacher through a Personal Message and not a reply. Each exam has 10 questions. 9 of them are mutliple choice and 1 is a written essay. These questions are made by the teacher with the information the students learned each class. RolePlaying is allowed during the exam as long as no answers are given. Remember that exams are important towards your grades. The grade you recieved on the exams go to the Gradebook also. Copyright © 2006, Subin. All rights reserved. |
