Guidelines for Personal Character Items These 'Items' are your Character Profile, Diary/Journal, Trunk, Gringotts Account and Photo Album. This page just discusses the values of each, where they are located and requirements for each. **UPDATE: Now all Personal Character Items except for Gringotts Accounts go into the Character Development Boards**
Character Profile - All Character Profiles must be located on the Offical Character list after you are accepted, regardless of your position, and etc. All Character Profiles, Diary/Journals, Trunks, Photo Albums, and Gringotts Accounts MUST have the words 'Personal Character Item' ONLY in the Topic Description. There are many other RPs going on each place and they would not be confused with. As you have noticed, Common Rooms, Staff Rooms, and other places are not made private because we want to get to know every character very well. These will not be private unless it is needed. They will be posted under the Character Development Board. Character Profile Your Character Profile MUST be posted in the Character Sign-ups sub-forum and accepted before you RolePlay or do any other sort. After it is accepted or approved, your Profile will be moved by Subin to the Offical Character List. Please note that only the starred fields must be completed when you sign-up. The other fields can be done after you are accepted. Positions can be changed when you sign-up for an Organization or some sort. Character Relationships At the top of your list, you can add a description about your character and then you can begin customizing your profile. You can add a list of Friends, Family, Enemies, Professors, Classes that your character is taking, and other things about your character. You can also add a Key that is color-coded or something else for each category. You can add a few graphics or links to your character's friends, family or even their other Personal Character Items. All this must be in one post which you can edit and change as you please. But please do not add any inappropriate stuff. All content must never exceed the PG-13 Level. Diary/Journal The Diary/Journal of your character is a daily or weekly row of threads in your own sub-forum. It either describes your classes and what you learned or the games you played or anything else you want to add. You can update this Item anytime you'd like. Photo Album Your Photo Album is just a gallery of pictures with comments and such underneath or above. You post up pictures of the celebrity that portrays your character. You may not use more than one celebrity so choose wisely in the beginning. Graphics should not be put up here. Your Photo Album should be updated or edited only on the first post. The rest of the replies/posts that follow are comments from friends, family, and other members. Trunk Your Trunk is a topic that shows many different things. You can add links to your own website or RPG; post graphics that you made; FanFiction or FanArt by yourself; graphics by others that you bought and many other things. Graphics from other members can be 'bought' with Galleons. Other items you can add are the Speical Items you applied for on the Forums.
Your Gringotts Account is a very complicated system if you do not understand how it works. When you first join the forums, you will have 100 Galleons. Since all prices on the RPG MUST be a whole number and not over 100 Galleons, you should always have a good amount of Galleons at all times. You earn them by participating in the RPG, selling your items, and other fun things. Each time you earn more Galleons or lose them, you must keep a record of it. Each update must be on your first post and below your last update with the date on top of the update. Put three columns/rows on your page: Income, Expences, Balances. In your Income Column/Row, put the amount that you have earned and for what deed. In your Expences Column/Row, put the amount that you lost and for what deed. Then, on your Balances Column/Row, find the amount that you have in total. Look below for an example. It is italicized to show that it is an example. Secret Word & Phrase: Five 'The Almighty Lindsey' Month, Date Income: 5 Galleons from Playing 'The Matching Game' Note: The Month and Date is the real date in Real Life. UPDATE: The New code I added allows you to automatically buy and earn Galleons. If you are having any problems with the automated Shop and Galleons, please go to your signature and make a shop profile. Please paste the following inside your signature. ?Name=Head_Mistress??0??Inventory!??0??? Replace 'Head' with your first name and 'Mistress' with your last. Then, save it. Please note that this code will not show. After that go to the shop and look at the amount of Galleons you have. If it is not the same number that you really have, go back to your shop profile (signature) and change the SECOND 0 into the number 400. After you save it, go back to the shop and buy anything less than 400 Galleons. You will not have this item though. Once you buy the item you should be back to your signature. Please paste in the correct code with your name and thing else. Do not change the number to 400 again. It will cause problems. Once you go back to the Shop, the amount of Galleons should be correct.
Your gradebook is very important. Whether you are taking classes or not, you must have one with you so it can be used as a reference for future jobs or other things. Your gradebook must have a set of grades for each year and class. If you do not have a grade just put a line through them. If it is a canon character, do not put those grades into the gradebook since your character will begin from the beginning. Remember that your grades must be real or they are not counted. You must have at least one row of grades for one year and class. IC Screenname IC Screennames are screennames--usernames--on AIM that RPers can use to chat with other characters. When you sign up for your character, make sure the screenname you chose is available on AIM since you will be making your AIM [or another account] account with that name. You may link them to your other screennames. Unless you put use OOC, all messages are in IC. These messages do not have to be posted anywhere on the site but you are free to do so.
