This is a page discussing Literacy. Please try and pay attention because this is a very important subject. Literate means being able to write and read. But there is a further meaning to it. Being literate also means being able to write a well structured introductions/posts. They should include a lot of details and be precise. Therefore, one liners are not permitted and you are not considered literate if you use them. Each post should describe as much as possible. If you are literate and a good writer, 8-10 sentences will not be very hard for you. Describe nearly everything! You can talk about the environment, the sounds, the smells, sights, touch, weather, temperature, etc. There are tons of ways to write a certain thing. Make sure everything flows. Add long sentences more than short ones. Mix them all together and you'll have a wonderful post. There should be a few similies and metaphors. This helps visualize even more. Make the paragraph sound poetic. They don't need to rythme to sound poetic; they just need to be able to flow with good language. Talking about good language, you should try and make as little mistakes in your writing as possible. Do not repeat the same word over and over again. Re-read every thing you write and edit it the way you like. Writing shouldn't be forced. The more you write, the more you'll come to love it. English allows so many different ways in writing. Learn to make the language bend and flex to your own way. Let the words come to you, let it fall piece by piece into your mind. Pretend you are in the story, pretend you are in the RolePlay. Make them as realisitic as possible. Secret Word & Phrase: Seven 'Peeps' Be able to figure out the difference between thoughts, dialouge and just plain actions/reactions/descriptions. All thoughts should use quotation marks ("), use single quotation marks ('), use italics or put it in normal font. Dialogue should be in bold text with quotation marks (") in the beginning and end of the dialogue. Quoted material in dialogue should use single quotation marks ('). For the RolePlay, make the dialogue from your character bold and in italics. Make the dialogue a different character says in bold and a different color. This is so that it is easier for other RolePlayers to read and it is much prefered. Please try and keep this rule going. I hope that helped a bit. Writing is one of my favorite things to do. I'm very passionate about reading and writing so don't make me feel bad. Copyright © 2006, Subin. All rights reserved. |
