HERE ARE THE FACTS;
In Australia there are 3 Organisations, the Baden-Powell Guild of former Scouts & Guides (Leaders & ex-Members, & Supporters).
Also there is the Trefoil Guild of past Guides & Guide-Leaders and the St.George's Guilds of Australia, operating at present only in the suburbs of Sydney - but closely aligned with European counterparts.
As we can only have one representation on the World body, we have a combined Identity, which is called the National Joint Council of AFOFSAG (Australian Fellowship of Former Scouts & Guides).
This is the body whose delegates attend the World Conference to speak on our behalf.
The Baden-Powell Guild of Australia is comprised of State Branches. Each Branch elects a Guildmaster or president, together with a Committee.
Within the State Branches, there are Sub - Branches (in Queensland we have 19 Sub-Branches with some 380+ members).
The other larger States have similar numbers, but of course the smaller States, as pro-rata their populations, have less.
We try to leave each Sub-Branch operate in their own style & time-frames, but hopefully - keen to join with others for times of fellowship when convenient to them.
We see the National role as being informative to Members, ( hopefully - an efficient conduit ) also providing the 'blanket cover' needed for successful operation of an Association in this day & age.
