Wow! HOW I wish I had known about this site before dealing with Michele!! I also have a horror story to add to the obviously long trail of inexcusable behavior by this woman. But here's my ugly true story...
Michele was advertising puppies on Pit Bull Classifieds. I'm new to the breed and new to online transactions with dogs, period. When I saw her ad for a 10 wk old merle female, I contacted her via email to ask what she wanted for the pup. (I have to admit I thought it was odd that the header of the ad listed only Michele's first name + email address. No last name, no phone number, no geographic location was listed like other breeders' ads.) She said she wanted $500. I said the most I could afford was $400 and she accepted that offer, saying she would sacrifice the dog because she had too many dogs, was moving and had to let the pup go. We emailed several times and I asked her more than once where she was located. I was in PA.; If she was too far away, I wasn't going to go through with the deal because I intended on driving to pick up whatever puppy I bought.
She told me she was in Effingham, Ilinois and sent me her phone number. We spoke on the phone and she seemed very nice. She sent me photos of the pup and the pup's dam and sire, a blue pit named Nova and a gorgeous merle, respectively (the dogs you display on your site). I told her that if I bought the pup, I wanted to see the sire and dam in the flesh when I came out to Illinois. She claimed she had already sold Nova and the merle had been stolen (?) from her months earlier. So she could show me neither, but sent 2-3 photos of each. She said in order for her to consider the puppy sold, she would need me to send all the money via a money gram purchased at Wal-Mart. I sent her half, $200, and told her in an email I'd give her the rest when we met. So 3 wks ago now (3rd wk of August '04), I drove from the Pittsburgh area to Effingham, Ill., an 8 hr. drive. Michele had me meet her in a resturant parking lot off Rt. 70. When I saw the pup, I was very disappointed. For one thing, the colors on the dog were much more dilute than the photos displayed. For another thing, the pup was covered from it's nose to it's butt with bumps. So many bumps that it was disturbing to pet the dog. Michele claimed she had kept the pup at friend's house during her move where it got tons of fleas. She had bathed her and assured me the dog would be just fine. I also noticed that the puppy's fur was generally sparse with a completely bare spot more than 2" in diameter on it's rump. On top of that, it had some drainage coming out of one eye. The puppy did appear to be active and well fed, however. I told Michele that I could not take this dog and wanted my $200 back. She said she didn't have a checking account (we were sort of in the middle of nowhere and I didn't know the area), so she couldn't write a check. She promised to send me a money order or Wal-Mart money gram as I had sent to her, since she had my address from our emails. She told me she was sorry that I had come all this way and decided not to take the pup. I was SO tired from the long ride and disappointed and I had another 8 hr. trip ahead of me back to Pittsburgh. But still, the way that Michele treated me was very nice. I got the impression that she was trying very hard to make ends meet, especially since moving out into in new house with her kids. I since have come to realize this sob story is her routine smoke screen. But since I've had my share of financial stress in my life, I wanted to be patient with her situation and believe the best, that she would be ethical, as most breeders are, and refund my money. I wouldn't have cared if she had kept $50 as a non-refundable deposit and sent me the rest in spite of the fact that the puppy was not in the condition I expected. I drove back to PA, having spent ~$75 in gas round trip, sleeping in my car along the way and generally spending a miserable 24 hrs. on the road for nothing.
A week went by and I received nothing in the mail. I emailed her and got no response. Then I called Michele and heard her disgust on the other end of the phone when she realized it was me. She quickly began telling me how hard everything has been for her over the last 2-3 months. She was very broke and didn't know what she was going to do. I asked about the puppy and she told me within a few days of our meeting, the pup began to act sick, was diagnosed with Parvo and had to be put down. She claimed she didn't even have the money to put the dog down and a neighbor had paid the vet bill for her to put the puppy out of it's misery. As I began to respond to her, I suddenly heard a dial tone. Michele had quietly pushed the button on her phone, hanging up on me while I was in mid sentence!! I immediately called back, it went to her machine and I asked her to pick up, that we needed to finish the conversation about the money she owed me. Of course she didn't pick up and I told her I would pursue getting my money back. Of course I haven't heard from her.
I was so naive and this woman is just plain trash. I can't say it any other way. In conclusion, no one should EVER consider having any business dealings with Michele Hetrick. And the other emails here on this site about her simply confirm this.
As for me, I will NEVER buy a puppy online again. I've since bought an adorable cow patched male puppy here in Pittsburgh that I'm very happy with. After this awful experience, I will return to the old fashioned, keep-it-simple method of picking out a puppy from a local breeder.
If anyone wants to contact me about my experience with Michele, please feel free: If you would like to complain about this kennel, please My name is Leonard Morris And I am here to tell every one that MASON owned by Mchele Hetrick is not ADBA registered, he is out of my STUD Bootleg Bulldozer ,and all the remarks that Michele makes is not true. She is mad at me because I placed the truth about mason on my websit and it burned her. Oh well yes I did sell a pup to Jennifer with a testicle that did'nt drop, and out of 60 some odd pups this was the only one with this problem. So you can do the math for yourself. And out of these 60 + pups I have never had anyone else to complain about my dogs or my pups. And once you get miss michele stirred up or call her on a lie, she comes after you and anyone who would back you up with a vengence.
And on the other hand if Bootleg's Bulldozer is such a bad stud why does she still have Mason. Plus I have talked to Jennifer on this matter many times and all of her pups from dozer also turned out fine. Leonard Morris

ALL I CAN SAY IS BEWARE OF If you would like to add to this complaint please Some months ago, I met Michele Hetrick of Prestige Collection, and offered to build her a free website. As time went by we became more aquainted with regular messenger chats and communication about optimizing her site.
At that time I thought Michele to be a very nice person, though I was being warned by almost everyone that knew her, to be aware of her scamming ways.
I am writing in regards to Michele Hetrick of Prestige Kennel Collection:
First of all I would like to let everyone know this sad excuse for a woman needs mental help. So we do have to excuse her actions and get her into some therapy. Now on the to the real reasons we are here.
1) The dog she claims to have mated with Nova came from my last litter of pups i had.
The solid white male/ blue nose came from my female Siemer's Lady Margaret owned by myself Jennifer Siemer. The father of that male is Bootleg's Dozer.. owned by Leonard Morris. Therefore I can account for Mason not have ANY merles in his pedigree what so ever. So in regards to him throwing a litter of merles is no way possible.
I do not rely on breeding my dogs to make ends meet and raise my family or her disfunctional outfit she claims is a family. If you call moving from town to town with numerous internet men a life for your kids well then so be it.
His chat name is hottcraig62816. He can fill you in on the details bout that. She totally ruined his life and took him for everything he had too. (poor guy). As the dogs were dying they had no place to dump their bodies so they stayed in garbage bags on the back of Craigs pickup truck for days.
4) Now it comes to her selling dogs for me. She sold ONE dog. And STOLE another one from me. She picked up two dogs one night. I told her I dont think its a good idea that she takes the dogs unless they are paid for but she got all upset and ignorant. She had a van full of kids with her and her flavor or the month boyfriend BOB with her. They both promised to send me the money the next day. I got the 200 dollars for the white male(which the agreement was for 250)...and never received anything for the white female she took.
She came up with excuses such as ( she didnt get her child support yet, or Bob had thrown her out and she had to sleep at the rest area with her kids, her car broke down and she had to use the money to fix it etc.)..And as for her claim as to the dogs stinking .... Well if you recall back in February we had alot of rain and my kennels are outside of course. You cant keep a dog spotless from gettin dirty when they are outside. She also had called me when she had made it to Mattoon and i had bout 15 min to get to my dog kennels before she arrived. She did not make an extra trip down here. She was meeting the fathers of her kids to drop them off for their monthly visits. So that $50 for gas she said she kept was heinous.
One week before they were to be shipped (pups were 7 weeks) he calls me and tells me that
all the pups died with Parvo b/c he didn't realize he had to give them shots.
He then tells me he doesn't have my deposit money to send me back because he spent it all.
I tried to work out I tried to work out a payment plan with him to get my money back
but all I got was the shaft.
He constantly lied to me even to this day saying he's going to pay me back
but it's been almost a year already.
The owner of the stud dog Hard Line used contacted me to to see if I could get in touch with
Richard Brock because he had been ripped off for his stud fee also.
Now he has more pups on his site or sale and more people are fixing to be ripped off
by this liar and thief.
I have been raising dogs for nearly 20 years, pit bulls exclusively for the last 13 years
and I have never encountered such a poor excuse for a back yard breeder and thief as

Dear CBB, I am extremely excited to see this site up and going, I think it is an excellent idea.
I would like to tell you about my experience with a kennel called MIKKO KENNELS Of South Carolina.
As a webmaster, I was asked by this scam kennel to build free website for the purpose of displaying their dogs.
I soon found out that they were severly abusing their dogs and also were no strangers to the do fighting game.
I completed their site, but upon discovering this information, I deciede not to publish it.
Despite a severe tongue lashing I held my ground.
A few weeks later, I saw an ad on pitbull classifieds that said Blue ADBA registered puppies for sale, with Mikko Kennels being the advertiser.
As I carefully looked at their ad, I realized that the dogs being advertised as the puppies parents were incorrectly represented.
When I built their site, the dam "Kya", was advertised as CKC registered, but in their ad she was advdrtised as ADBA, and I was also surprised to see that the Sire "Rebel" whom I was told was AKC was also ADBA, but knew this was leagally possible.
I can Produce Pictures of Kya's and her bushy tail. I am extremely sad to know that these are the types of individuals that are trying to represent our wonderful breed, and would desperately like to put an end to their breeding program.
We have had at least 14 complaints about this Terrible Breeder,
but no one wanted to leave a name or number.
Sadly but Fortunately, one of our board members has had some dealings with her.
Michele is now advertising a litter of merles that are not what she says they are,
and because we are here to protect this breed
we felt it was necessary to do this posting.
We will post pictures of Nova , Bleu, Mason and the puppies so you the audience can make a judgement call.
We also researched Mason, whos sire is a blue dog and mom white with black brindle patches, so how do we get 10 merles?
Is it not a bit suspicious that all of the puppies looks like Bleu, with some having the exact color?.
Michele has been known to be dishonest to most, and will do anything to make a buck.
She has sold half hound dogs as pits, and doing it again.
WE ARE DEMANDING!!! that Michele and Prestige Collection come clean NOW! and do the right thing by this breed, we feel that because of people like her , our breed is dying.
It is obvious that she is only after the money and not interested in having a first class breeding program.
She had different dogs on her yard every other week. She acquired a set of black tri colored mix breed pitbull puppies from a gentleman in Odin Illinois. She then turned around and sold them as ADBA dogs which clearly you could tell they were not. She was finally ran out of town by all of us diehard American Pitbull Breeders who are true to the breed. And actually care about the dogs welfare instead of trying to make money to pay our bills.
After seeing her posting a whole litter or merles for sale, and seeing who she claimed to of whelped these mixed breed mutts, I decided enough was enough. I am here to save everyone the hassle of being let down and throwing their money away, which is basically what you are doing when you purchase a dog from this woman. i know from common sense that a solid white male and a solid blue female will not produce a whole litter of merles, expecially when neither of them that she has claimed produced the puppies, even have merles in their pedigrees. That is a fact!!!!!!
I also know about how she rips off people. Makes them promises and never comes through with them. She takes people money and spends it immediately, then when its time to deliver or ship the said puppy, she has no funds to do so. She has it posted on her website that she also sells dogs for friends?.....YEAH that happens......
I know of one woman she sold dogs for and she kept 3/4 of the money she sold the dog for. She lied to the owner of the dogs she was selling that she only sold for a certain amount. That is ridiculous. It says to me.........She can't sell her own dogs so why not make money off of someone else.
Then. I come across yet ANOTHER ad. Where she is selling a deaf blind dog for $100.00. She has come to the ultimate low. This chaos needs to come to a halt. We true pitbull lovers need to come together and put this to an end once and for all. I know that there are ALOT of you out there that have been conned by this malicious person.
Don't be afraid to put it all out and save others from the same heartache that she has caused you. I will kindly talk to anyone and provide proof of all the fact that i have stated in this posting. You may contact me anytime.
