advice from a squirrel.... crazy huh?
Lodo has just granted me a part of his sites. so here it is. Here i will give tips on Gimp for i don't use photoshop. I'll give tips on logo making and many other things. thx lodo for the space
tip 1: saving
Tip number 1
well here goes nothing. when you make a box on Gimp always make sure you save it as .xcf first (IE: treesquirrel.xcf) it saves the layers and you can go back to it and change the mistakes you make. After that save as .png or .jpg (IE: treesquirrel.png OR treesquirrrel.jpg) these formats are always set in the best quality. when you save it as these formats a message will pop up, click "export" then "yes" and your finished ('export" then "ok" for jpg). this has been a tip from treesquirrel have a squirrely wrath day.
Tip #2
welcome to logo making 101!
Well here we are making a logo. First get a font either use one on your CPU or download one off www.dafont.com (credit for link to our very own RB). then type out your title and go to your new best friend in Gimp, script-fu (pic 1(also please ignore stamp in top left corner)). for my example i'm making a just Cause 2 logo. effects for this are always in alpha to logo (pic 2). if you want a plain and simple go to blend I or II (doesn't matter) and pick your color it should turn out like Pic 3. Now if you want to get complicated go to textured (pic 4) then select your pattern. then dont do anything else and select ok. Your logo should come out like pic 5. after that take the grab tool and take out the green and blue part, the black square thingy, and the grid(grid shown in pic 6) like shape peaking out from behind the logo last take out the white backround so you see a gray checkered backround. you should come up with something like pic 7 (depends on pattern). then using my save tip save it as .png (you probably wont change it from there) and save it using all of the following in pic 8. I have many more ways to make a logo but lets save those for another day. this has been a tip from treesquirrel have a squirrely wrath day thank you. i will put pictures tommorow i'm tired *yawn* hopefully this will help till then.
