The 36th Illinois Infantry Regiment Historical Association, Inc., is an organization that is dedicated to preserving our country's Civil War era history through presentations and historical reenactments that are interesting in a relevant and useful way. Our membership is primarily from the greater Chicago and Joliet, Illinois area. Our events take place on most weekends from April through October. We set up different types of camps, drill, and participate in demonstrations with other Civil War units in the area and at national level events. Authenticity is paramount and we observe strict rules and standards set down by our membership. We try to recreate the appearance as much as possible, of the original 36th Illinois. This regiment fought at Pea Ridge, Perryville, Stones River, Chickamauga, Mission Ridge, Atlanta, Franklin, and many other engagements.
