The woodcarvers at the Ensemble Artisanal have been working since 1955, producing trays, bowls, tables, carved figures, boxes and more. They use cedar, juniper, thuya, citrus and other woods native to Morocco. They use basic hand tools and can spend hours or days on each item.
The metal worker is self-taught and has been working since the age of twelve. Products include frames, candlesticks, animals, and plant stands.
The Amal Women’s Cooperative has been in operation since 2000; the 25 women work the looms, weaving a variety of traditional carpets, and also run their own retail shop. All of the artisans also accept command orders.
