Why do I always update around the middle of the month? - June 18th, 2009

So like, all of my files on Filefront were deleted from my account. I don't think this happened exclusively to me, but either way it means everything on this site is no longer downloadable and I am sad.

I'm gonna find a new host and upload all the games again. You might see a new game or two, I'm not really sure if I forgot to upload any games before.

I'm also strongly considering moving to a different site/url/page thing. Feels pretty lame using a pre-made freewebs page, so I might try my hand at working with raw HTML just for a bit of fun. 'sides, grey is kinda boring, no?

Anyway, I know I suck for never actually updating anything, but I will soon. For realz.

Also I started playing Exteel a little bit on a new account, under the callsign 'Kyrith'. So if you wanna play with me and Clax, that's where you'll find me.

 That's all for now.

Hello, inferiors! - May 14th, 2009

Looks like I'll be getting a new PC tomorrow. A good one, actually.

Though, an MMORPG I plan to play is hitting Open Beta the same day, so that's likely to take up a lot of my time.

So what I'm trying to say is I'll finally have a PC capable of recording what I want to record, and I'll actually feel some initiative to update again. I promise a cleaner layout, a new game or two, [I forget how many, I got no access to my hard drive.] and some new videos. [Eventually.]

Once I feel like taking a break from the MMORPG, I mean.

 Sleep time.

Don't feel like it~. - April 16th, 2009

Just don't feel like updating lately. Decided to save my money instead of buying a new computer.

Also not really sure anyone visits this site. It's hard to tell, with the entire lack of e-mails I've gotten.

If you want an update, tell me in an e-mail. Maybe I'll get around to it if I feel a need for it.~

Small request. - March 12, 2009

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that I've decided on a new layout for the games page and it looks a crapload better than it did before.

The bad news is that after updating the list to this new style, I've noticed that 5+ games that are on the current list are dead, or unusable. To name a few:

Immortal Grand Prix [Dead.], Botsu March [Doesn't work.], Gigantic Gear [I think. Might be wrong.], Metal Fatigue [Dead.], Steel March.

Now, one problem I have, is that I'm not entirely sure of which games are in working order or not. Sometimes a game works for me, but not someone else. Sometimes it doesn't work for me, but it will for whoever. Sometimes the game is just plain dead. Sometimes someone else has a copy of the game, or knows another host.

So my request to whoever the hell you are is that if you encounter any problems with the current list of games, have any information on 'dead' or unworking games, e-mail me at imairtaz@hotmail.com so I can get things fixed up and spiffy.

Also, if you have time to kill, you could go ahead and download every game on the list to see what doesn't and does work. I plan to do this myself once I get the new PC, but if someone wants to do it for me, I sure as hell won't complain.

Aside from all that, I'm still open to any feedback. E-mail me or whatever.

Now I'm ****ing tired. Going away now.

What? He's NOT dead? - March 12, 2009

Alright, it's been a pretty long time. Almost half a year. I'm not dead, and I didn't give up on the site at all. I'm aware it seriously needs an update, and it'll get it. I've been planning on it for a while. To be honest, I have a handful of games that need to be uploaded, and I wanna make the site a little more attractive in general.

Basically, I've been lazy with the site, so that's my own fault. Recently, though, I got hit with a pretty nasty virus. I didn't want to get into messing with the site while I was dealing with that. Additionally, I'm buying a new computer later this month. Blows my current PC out of the water. This means I'll be able to record a handful of the games I wasn't able to before. [I might even trash some of the old videos and record some fresh gameplay and fitting music. No promises on that one.]

Will be picking up my PC anywhere between 5 to 10 days, so expect an update soon.

Also, I really gotta fix the banner's quality. I don't even want to think of how long it's been like that.

- Edit -

 Doesn't look as sloppy anymore.

Lock Horns! - October 11, 2008

I haven't updated for a while, and today is nothing special. I've been playing Exteel a lot lately. It's pretty exciting again. I suggest you all try it out if you haven't yet. It's a pretty cool game, really. The community is crap on the surface, but there's a lot of good players if you check the forums and dig a little deeper. Trust me. [By forums I mean the forums on the official website. Seriously, they're a cool bunch.]

I might start uploading some Exteel related stuff, like a picture of my mech somewhere. I just think he's cool.

Here's a short, and crap-quality vid I recorded back in June. Me using my favorite Exteel skill; Lock Horns.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ac5gSHuWkIw

Note: That was my first video ever.

Also, Claxus has made his own website. He puts some weird stuff on it. So far, the only content is Fly Mech and Spider-Stick. A game and a short flash made by him. It's really just a random site, but check it out anyway. Fly Mech is goddamn amusing.

Lance of Machine will pierce the heavens! Who do you think I am?! September 09, 2008

Today I essentially finished the Games 1.1 page. The games and links are generally updated, and I removed some things that shouldn't have been on the old list, as well as adding some new stuff. Unless your internet connection simply can't live through it, I would reccomend only use Games 1.1, which will now simply become the 'Games' page, while the original list will have some name referring to the fact that it's old. I'll probably fix the links up to so it's not all gimped, for you people with the crappy connections. [Which is the only reason I'm keeping it around.]

There's some descriptions and videos to be added, and I will be working on that soon. .. But with Games 1.1 completed, I would like to start getting this site some real attention. I told myself once I upgraded it, that I'd start advertising it.. and, well. I think now's a good time. So tell your friends, your family, and your pets that Lance of Machine is here for all your freeware mecha gaming needs.

Hell, you might even meet new people, and make use of multiplayer games like Silver Knights and Windom XP. So go post on your favorite forums. Tell your geeky friends. 2000lb lances are heavy, so stop standing around and help me carry the damn thing!

Lance-o'-Macheeeeen. - September 08, 2008

So, all day today I worked in turning the old game list into something more appealing. It was to have all the old links, but with small videos on the sides which would still perform as links to the larger ones. Also, a description for every game added thus far.

Sadly, this causes large amounts of lag. In some cases, the videos don't even play. However, I don't want to abandon this newer form, so I'm trying to figure out what to do. Opinions and comments on 'Games 1.1' would be great. Check it out, but keep in mind it's a little screwy. I probably won't add every game to Games 1.1 yet, and I'm not worried about lining the videos up with the text if it's just a problem anyway.

I've also added a game called C21 to the list. This is a japanese game, but I have recorded a guide that will allow you to register and play the game.

.. Though, I just realized I forgot to show how to download the game, so you'll have to figure that one out on your own. I did.

Through fire, freeware mecha games are served! - September 08, 2008

Been a month, but I've decided to update a few things, and will be continuing.

Starting school soon, but hopefully I'll keep with the initiative.

Today brought all you poor mech-lovers:

- A newb Age of Armor vid.
- Gigantic Gear [Game.]
- Gundam Seed LF2 [A mod for another game in the likeness of SEED.]
- BOTS!! [Game.]
- Three ways to contact me; 1. Commenting on my Youtube channel.
                                              2. Adding me on MSN. [imairtaz@hotmail.com]                                                                3. Joining the IRC server lucidchat.net, and joining the channel #LanceOfMachine

You can look forward to:

- More videos. I really will be trying to get more videos on the site. Clax asked me to redownload Exteel, Windom XP and Silver Knights so we could record some gameplay; hopefully this following Wednesday, or during the Weekend.
- Possibly C21. I don't really want to add the game right now because it's Japanese, and I couldn't even register myself. [I got close!] I may make a small guide on how to download and register, and you guys can play around on it yourself. Whoever you are.

Remember not to be afraid to make suggestions. Seriously, I'm just some random geek. Tell me what needs to be improved!

Don't hide. It's always nice to hear people enjoy the site, games [which aren't mine, but you know...], and whatever else. Knowing people appreciate what I do only makes me want to do it more, so speak up if you want more!

[The title of this update was a reference to the N64 game 'Mischief Makers'. I'm not totally insane. Also, play the game if you haven't. It kicks ass.]

Update #5 - August 3, 2008

I added a section in the forum to talk about games, though I only added a page for the few games I thought anyone would actually talk about. For whatever else there's Whatever Else. I just don't see a reason to make a massive forum at this point.

I guess I'll fix that Windom XP link now. It's bugging me. You people better appreciate this. I'm really going the extra mile for you guys, fixing that link. Don't know where you guys get off expecting me to let you play all my fancy games. Damn bunch of free-loaders.

Update #4 - August 2, 2008

Taz here with some good news. Thanks to Clax's efforts, we've come across an older version of Second Age. The reason this is good news is because it offers a few more mechs to choose from in a more user friendly way. This has been labeled [Basic Version]. The Full version is still up for download, and I highly suggest you check the manual for using the Final Version. I've added a little walkthrough for how to use any of the mechs from the entire roster. [Which includes Excel, Lag, Silver Bullet, Lead, Without, Geo Arc, Duke, DeSeed, Gaiki and r99.]

Pretty fucking awesome, isn't it? Damn right it is.

Also, video of Clax playing Seventh Sky as one of the four mechs, and I've started to upload games onto Filefront as a safeguard.

 - Update #4, Part 2

Newer, more complete version of Seventh Sky is up for download. You can play the older one on the official site, but there's no reason to as it's only inferior. This newer version has MechVsMech as well as the MechVsEnemy. It also has some cool options like Semi-Auto Weapon switch and Auto Lock.

I've for the most part backed up every game on the site. [Even Combat Heaven.] However, the link for Windom XP is dead, and I'm too lazy to fix it. Maybe if someone actually complains, I'll fix that.

Update #3 - July 27, 2008

So I may or may not have entirely abandoned this site for a while. I started playing RF Online and got caught up in that for a while before I took up Grand Chase. On top of that, I've been working and doing some other useless time consuming things that have lead me to forget about/not feel like working on here.

But I think I'll be taking a break from Grand Chase for a little, and I've quit RF altogether. [Both are pretty decent [free] games, though not mech related. (Aside from the mech race in RF and another race that can Pilot Mechs.. Hm.)]

Thus I'll be developing the site a bit in the near future. I'm not really sure what I'll get done, if anything, but at least I'm back.

Also, if you know of any freeware mech games that haven't been added to the list yet, feel free to mention 'em and I'll take a look. [Any other suggestions in general would be great. I know the Forum could use an extra section or two.]

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Alright, so Clax has brought to my attention a new game called Seventh Sky. It's still under construction, and I'm not entirely sure whether or not it's still being worked on or not, but it looks like they planned to add a lot more to it.

It's got pretty smooth and fast paced gameplay, with 4 unique mechs to choose from. Try it out. I don't think you'll be disappointed. No videos up of it at the moment, due to a bit of lag and Fraps not working with it, but look forward to one in the near future.

Also, I think I may download and reupload all games to filefront just in case their respective sites die off. We'll see.

Update #2

So I actually added the newer version of Second Age today, along with finishing the manual and recording two gameplay videos. I added an Immortal Grand Prix video as well and just did some light touching up for the Games page.

I'm working on an offensive armor video, but goddamn, that game has a retarded control scheme for being such a simple game.

I'm hoping to get a Silver Knights and Exteel video up by today. Maybe even a Windom XP vid. All three should be 1 vs. 1, Taz vs. Clax. Interesting, yeah? If I don't get around to that, I'm going to at least try to review/rate/describe the games listed. Until then, I'm just gonna say Offensive Armor totally sucks.

Go play it if you want to feel challenged.. in a retarded-esque way.

Is that an electrically charged, tri-pronged lance in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

- June 15th, 2008.

So I've actually started updating a little more recently.

Trying to get videos up for every game on the list, but due to some software problems I've been held back. Things are looking better though, so we'll see.

The forum is open to questions, comments, suggestions and whatever. Right now I'm just focusing on the games, though and considering pretty much no one is aware that this site exists, I'm not planning on expanding the forum just yet.

I'll be checking back daily, so don't think just because there's little content, that this place has been abandoned. I'm just lazy as... as... whatever.

Also, some problems with Second Age. Firstly, I haven't bothered uploading the manual yet so ignore that. Second, I can't find the original game anywhere. I've found the newer version, but most of the mechs have question marks all over them and it just looks incomplete and crappy. I might upload it somewhere down the line, but until then, keep an eye out for the older version. [Also, if you come by any broken links or whatever, tell me and I'll fix it or whatever.]

I have made text. - Taz
