For most of you, frisbee is an untouched world. A world you have not yet had your eyes opened to. We feel sorry for you, so here we have some frequently asked questions which will hopefully clear some things up for you. If you have any other questions feel free to contact us with your queries. For any newcomers, Jim has written an excellent 'Freshers Pack' that explains the basic terminology of the game.
How on earth does frisbee work competitively?
Well child, like most sports there is one team competing against another. With me so far? Both teams will have seven players for an outdoor game, or five if it's an indoor game. The general idea of the game is to catch the disk in the oppositions 'end zone'. When you manage this your team will gain one point on the score board. No player can move when they have the disk, nor can they hold the disk if their pivoting foot is outside the marked pitch area. So basically, the idea is pass it around your team, progress up the field, and get one of your team mates to catch it in the end zone. Easy peasy. Now, if for some crazy reason my explanation isn't good enough for you, then check this website out.
What's this 'Aye-Aye' stuff all about?
In frisbee, people tend to be a bit more creative than other sports. This lead to every university giving their team a nickname. This probably comes from crazy-America-land where Ultimate Frisbee originated in the late 1960's. (No I didn't know that, I looked it up on wikipedia to try and impress you.) So, as you may have already guessed, 'Aye-Aye' is our team name. Don't worry though - believe it or not there are some more ridiculous names. Just wait till your first tournament.
Why is there a ridiculously ugly monkey all over the place?
Oh yeah, sorry about that. That's the team's logo - it's an Aye-Aye. Yes, our team is named after a Madagascan lima.

Who can play for Aye-Aye?
Everyone! Yay! Well, a full set of limbs is advised, although not necessarily required. Aye-Aye is a mixed gender team, and we also have a seperate womens team who enter womens tournaments and often do very well. Aye-Aye is a very accepting and sociable team, and we love to take anyone under our wing. Frisbee and beveraging come hand in hand with Aye-Aye - we find this helps getting to know each other. And then when you even know each other, it's still fun.
How can I keep in contact with Aye-Aye?
Other than using the Facebook group, Aye-Aye has a Yahoo Sports Group that we use to inform anyone of anything important. It also helps us to keep in contact with Alumni and our brothers and sisters at Norwich Open.

How many pints can a frisbee hold?
You know, it's funny you should ask that question. There is a very traditional part of frisbee. It has been with the game since it began. This is known as the 'Three-Pint-Challenge'. The name pretty much describes what you have to do, but the basic concept is getting a frisbee, turning it upside down, fetching three pints of your favourite beverage, then you and a friend consuming the three pints out of the frisbee through straws while everyone else watches on shouting and screaming. It's all very exciting, and something you should definitely be looking forward to.
What is Big Wednesday?
Big Wednesday refers to an average Wednesday for an Aye-Aye. This is a pretty non-descript hangover then frisbee from 2-4 to clear the lungs. We then head to the Union Pub for the rest of the day/night and enjoy Norwich's finest take-away establishments all while we get very jolly.
