About the Site

Much Love was the product of summer boredom in 2006. It was born from my love of web design and from the desire to share my own tastes in music, to enlighten people with all of my favorite things. It once featured reviews of music, movies, anime, and dramas, and contained detailed profiles and information about all four. It was also the origin of the Asian Birthdays Calendar, an idea born from memorizing my favorite artists birthdays, and wanting to share them with others.

However, so many functions became a bit too much to handle, so I reformatted it to be something easier. In August 2007, a year after the birth of the original Much Love, after returning from my trip to Japan, I recreated the site with a new layout, and eliminated the reviews and profiles of anime, movies, and drama. Not wanting to give up on writing profile for my favorite artists, however, I maintained that hobby by including a weekly profile rotation. I also wanted to share my favorite music videos, so I added a music video rotation. The mp3 rotation remained, as did the birthday calendar.

For two years, these features remained. However, when I started college in 2008, I discovered I had little time to keep up with writing profiles and uploading music videos, so these functions slowly ceased. I decided in mid-2009 to recreate the site once again; with a new layout, the music rotation was maintained, with requests available as they have always been, and a music video request feature was opened. The birthday calendar, which became somewhat obselete, was removed, as was the weekly profile function, which, for lack of time and interest, had to be ceased. Now Much Love remains as you see it, with Dong Bang Shin Ki featured in the layout.

Much Love is a sister site to two Livejournal communities that ayaownsyou also maintains: Asian Birthdays and Oricon Charts. Both contain uploads, so do visit them if you have time!

About the Webmistress

My name is Dale and I was born September 7, 1989. I am attending a small liberal arts university in Ohio, and am majoring in East Asian Studies, and minoring in Japanese and International Studies. As a career plan, I tell everyone that I will probably go into international business. I may do that, or I may go to Asia and teach English a second language. Or perhaps I will go to graduate school and become a scholar. There are many things I want to see and do before I settle into a career, though, so I may spend some time drifting, if I can, before I grow my roots. I do know in the end I want to teach college at some time. I'm studying Japanese and Chinese at college and self-studying Korean at home. My goal is to speak all 3 fluently, in addition to English.

I love music of any language, though that of Asia is my favorite. My favorite kinds of music are hip-hop, pop, and pop rock. I also watch dramas, and I occasionally enjoy watching SmapxSmap, Utaban, Music Station, and Hey!x3. I also enjoy watching Chinese and Korean variety shows as well, though my knowledge of them are sparse.

My hobbies include playing piano, reading, web design, learning languages, and making new friends. Be sure to drop me a comment some time if you'd like to be friends!
