AWF's Official News Wire Announced Today.
AWF NEWS JANUARY –
FEBRUARY 2007
-What a whirlwind month January has been so far. The AWF
Championship changed hands 3 times in 2 days over the weekend of January 6
& 7’s New Year’s Revolution events… In the big Three Way Elimination at Blacktown, TNT defeated
Steve Ravenous after the “Crazyjack” twisting elbow, which was led in by a
Van-Terminator dropkick by Cima, to end Ravenous’ eight month Championship
reign and win the AWF Title…
TNT’s reign however lasted only a few minutes, as he was
defeated in the conclusion of the bout by Cima with his “Crossfire” powerbomb.
Cima was crowned the first AWF Champion not of Australian nationality to a
great reaction from the crowd and celebrating AWF Wrestlers… However at
Cardiff, in front of a sellout crowd, TNT was able to out wrestle the Japanese
sensation Cima, and pin him after delivering “The Detonator” to once again become
the AWF Australian Champion… So after some exciting happenings TNT is the
current AWF Australian Champion, and is set to face contenders Jay Law (3 Feb –
King Tom Club), Future Shock (10 Feb – Campbelltown Catholic Club), USA’s Steve
Corino (23 March – Cardiff Panthers) and Kid Dynamite (14 April). AWF Wrestling
wishes TNT the best of luck as the new Champion.
- Scotty Club remained champion over the New Year’s
Revolution weekend defeating challengers Toxin and Zander Bathory. Waiting in
the wings are the future challenges of Billy Flyswat & Dr Waxhead, plus
Powerhouse Theo, and former partner The Captain.
- The Detonation Crew of TNT & Kid Dynamite exploded at
the Blacktown NYR event, with Kid Dynamite smashing TNT with a chair at the
climax of the AWF Title bout, setting up the opening for Cima (unknown to him)
to win the AWF Title. After the bout, a bewildered TNT was searching furiously for
Kid Dynamite, who had seemingly aligned himself with Steve Ravenous and swiftly
left the arena. It appears that Ravenous, who helped Dynamite overthrow Mark
Hilton in the Australia’s
Cup Ladder Match earlier on the card, and Kid Dynamite may have been in
co-hoots to cost TNT the belt. Both Ravenous and Dynamite have denied any
comment on the subject except telling fans to show up to “Detonation Time” on 3
Feb and see what is going to happen to TNT.
- Jay Law is the Number 1 Contender for the AWF Title, and
will get his shot at the King Tom Club on 3 February. Law has been teaming and
training with TNT’s most recent nemesis, The Future Shock and has gotten inside
strategies from Shock, to try and undo TNT. This one two punch of Law and Shock
could be all TNT can handle.
- USA’s Number 1 Independent Wrestler and current AWA World
Champion Steve Corino will be appearing at Cardiff Panthers on 23 March Vs TNT
in a USA Vs. Australia bout at the event aptly named “International Showdown”.
The debut AWF event at Cardiff Panthers was a turnaway sellout, so we advise
AWF fans to book really early so as to get seats to this event, as it is sure
to no doubt be the hottest ticket in town come March 23. Full Card and details
will be announced shortly. Tickets are on sale now from Cardiff Panthers by
booking on 02 4979 1900 or purchasing at the club. Don’t miss this history
making event!
- The King Tom Club event on 3 Feb will see Mark Hilton
battle Il Cognito in an AWF Title Conenders bout, with the winner receiving a
title shot at the next King Tom event.
- Congratulations go to Jimmy Daniels, Nick Ferno, Bluey
Bonza and Lebo Ceda for making successful AWF debuts in the month of January.
- AWF is looking for street team members to help with
promotion of upcoming shows in Sydney, Central Coast
and Brisbane.

- Popular AWF Wrestler The Captain returned to action on 6
January teaming with Dr Waxhead at Blacktown RSL after a 6 month layoff.
Captain will appear on upcoming AWF cards, along with other scheduled returnee
Teen Wolf.
- Also returning to AWF action after a 6 year layoff, on 7
January in Cardiff
was “Canadian Hellraiser” Jason Helton. Helton defeated 160 kg Massive Q with a
“Canadian Crossface” hold in his return. Later in the card Steve Ravenous
mouthed off challenging for international challengers, and Helton appeared and
said he welcomes Ravenous’ challenge. AWF has set Ravenous Vs Helton for the 23
March “International Invasion” Cardiff
event.
- Get wells go out to referee Daniel Beaumont who injured
his shoulder in the AWF Title 3 way bout after taking a superkick from Cima.
- Special thanks go to Japanese refereeing sensation Duke
Sado for his participation at recent AWF cards. Duke did a great job refereeing
both Blacktown, and the full Cardiff event.
- Speaking of Japan, AWF’s presence continues to
build in the land of the rising sun. The January New Years Revolution events
where given full page features in Japan’s Weekly Pro and Gong Weekly
wrestling publications. AWF Japan representative Mr Daisuke Goto has been busy
scouting talent for future AWF tours also, and there will be announcements soon
as to who will be visiting AWF in future months from Japan.
- AWF Champion TNT will be appearing on popular Channel 10
Late night TV show Cybershack in the coming weeks as part of a gaming

**Dear AWF fan site users.**
Please be aware that the fansite will have minimal to no updates in the next 2 weeks as i have a lot of packing, moving and unpacking to do, so for the next 2 weeks the only updates to look forward to are this thursday i will be posting the interview i have only just completed with the former AWF wrestler Matt Wolf, a very interesting interview to say the least.
Plus the voice of the AWF has agreed to have his own collumn on the AWF fan site, look forward to seeing that "up" soon.
plus from time to time there will be more updates on upcoming event cards and locations and all AWF happenings (when possible)
please be pacient with the ads, i really am trying to get a better service but with so much stuff to do and little time on my hands over the next 2 weeks its not going to be easy.
I really want to thank each and everyone of you for visiting the fan site and supporting the AWF.
please continue to do so and make your way to TNT's first title defense @ the king tome club! on the 3rd of feb "its detonation time"
many thanks
-Fudd-
