Aviation Photography

   This site is built by Giel Sweertvaegher. I'm a 17 years old aviation photographer from
   Poperinge (Belgium).
   I'm interested in aviation for 8 or 9 years now. Like many other young photographers in
   Belgium it started with the seaking helicopters based at the military field of Koksijde.
   Since I visited the International Airshow there, my interest in aviation kept growing.
   I made my first pictures in March 2007 at an opendoor at Wevelgem Airport.
   I didn't had any camera, so I had to use my brothers Nikon D70 + 55-200mm.
   I saved all my money and finally in July 2007 I had enough to buy my Nikon D80.
   After some more saving I could buy a 70-300mm.
   Happy with my new toys I started to photograph planes at the local fields (EBMO, EBKT,
   EBOS, EBFN).
   Enjoying the sunday afternoons at those fields or at airshows, I couldn't have any idea
   where these pictures would bring me.
   2009 was thé year! I became part of the ericcoeckelberghs.com Photocrew. Finally my
   investments and experimental pictures had brought me somewhere. Being part of the
   Photocrew gave me the chance to meet new people, work with experienced photographers
   (the other crewmembers), do some unique flights, work with the best equipment and
   have the time of my life!
