Tag magic designed to allow rapid preparation of your mp3 files for playing on portable devices. Usually such devices don't use file names and folder names but rather prefer to operate titles,  album names and so on.
Many mp3 files in your collection may miss tags or contain incorrect tags.  TagMagic will help you to fix this problem very fast.
It able to do following:

1. Copy  file name, folder name, title, album name, artist,genre or any combination to any tag.
2. Add sequence to any tag.
3. Rename file using tags information.
4. Move file to new folder named according to tags information.
5. Perform batch operations.
6. Preview changes, then apply once all done.
7. For Russian letters transliteration is available for all tags and filenames.

How to use

Once program loaded you can add music files by dragging files and folder or in more common way via a file menu or toolbar buttons. 

To edit selected files you press "Enter" or Right Click Mouse.

Once multiple files selected some fields my have {Multiple Values} text.

Once you press Apply button only checked fields values will be applied.

To assign existent values drag labels from right side of edit dialog.  You can combine complex names and use sequences.

For example: {Album} {#} {Fname}

To use translit feature just drag correspondent translit label  {tr} It will call function that will replace Russian letters in generated field text to Latin symbols

For Example

"Привет{tr} {Album}" and Album is "Время деньги" - "Privet Vremya dengi"

Settings

It is possible to select English or Russian language for interface.

Read and Write encodings allow define encoding for non ASCII-7 symbols. 

You may try to use Unicode to save national symbols and play on your mp3 player. However I did not achieved any success with my IPOD and prefer to use Latin. Default settings shown on screenshot are OK for Russian letters and for English names. If you need German or other European language probably it's better to select windows-1252.

Remember to make backups once you play with encodings.
