Wilfy's Home page, you are wondering about the choice of Name. My second name is Wilfred and Wilfy is short for that.

I am a 57 year old ex South Australian living on the Central Coast Of New South Wales at Bateau Bay. I am a rail enthusiast, and I am involved in the sport of Dragon Boat racing. In October and December 2000 and January 2001 I did a lot of travelling interstate and noticed a lot of railway lines on the ground which looked like they were unused. In May of 2001 I moved to New South Wales from South Australia. In August of 2001 my partner and I did a trip to Oakey in Queensland, which is west of Toowoomba. Returning from this trip I found a railway line along the New England Highway and started to wonder where it went. On arriving home I did some research over the next few weeks to get more info about that particular railway line. During my search I found information about New England Railway Inc. group which at the time had bases at Armidale and Glenn Innes in the Northern Tablelands of New South Wales.

I am now a member of that group, created a website for the group as well and do a monthly electronic newsletter for our members and some friends whom I have either met in person or met via the internet.

I am also a member of the Binnaway Rail Preservation Society, and have created a website for them as well.
