Hi we are Daniel & Lourie Tumino, the proud parents of 4 year old son, Domenic and 2 year old son, Christian. On July 03,2007 Domenic was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, a neurological disorder resulting in developmental disability. It affects 1 out of every 150 children Symptoms may include- -delayed Language -Poor social skills, poor eye contact, repetitive gestures -Difficulty coping with change or frustration resulting in unusual behaviors or tantrums. I attended the Start Up and the New Frontiers training programs at the Autism Treatment Center Of America in Massachusetts where I learned all the fundamental skills and techniques necessary to design and implement a home based, Son-Rise Program. I was blessed to get a scholarship to attend the start up program at the Autism Treatment Center Of America.
The costs of the training programs are:
Start up. $2,195 (per person)
Maximum Impact. $2,495 (per person)
New Frontiers $2,495 (per person)
We also have to consider the costs of airfare, local transportation, specially designed playroom, educational material, Program consultations, phone consultations, Video Feedback training, and Outreach programs. This all adds up to $25,000. In addition to the Son-Rise Program we want to address the possible biological causes of autism, with the help of a Dan! doctor.
So we created this website to raise the funds to give Domenic the best chances necessary to reach his full potential.
