It's America! PublishAmerica

Brief Description

Towboating on Inland Waterways was written after people showed a genuine interest in learning more about the towboat industry.  I have written a brief, descriptive book about the years I worked on the river.  I explain towboating as I experienced it from a cook's point of view.  As you read, you will learn how towboaters get to and from the boats and what it's like to  climb lock walls and ride yawls and tugs.

The captain and his crew maneuver the barges on the rivers through all types of weather, in both low and high water, sometimes making split-second decisions to keep the crew and the boat out of harms way.

You may learn things about the river you never knew before, like the historic Piasa Bird, The Haunted Castle, or the Fish on the Pole.    I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did writing it.  This book can be purchase through the PublishAmerica Website, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
