MJ Daley-Prado

Childrens Author and Illustrator

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the United States today. We all know there is plenty of research being done and many strides in medical advances being made every single day. The one area that lacks that same response is helping our young children to cope with the illness and possibly a death of a loved one. After having been through two personal experiences with cancer within her own family Ms.Daley-Prado decided it was time for her to take matters into her own hands and do something about it.When illness struck her sister's family, her sister had 4 small children at the time, all between the ages of 4 and 12.They went searching for material but the books were all about "doom and gloom".There were no illustrations or books that a tiny child could relate to. They just weren't the types of books they were looking for to present to very young children. MJ started to write this book many times but grief got in the way. When her Mother died in 2003 she told MJ she really needed to do this book. So,with that said,..."this is how this journey began..."
