South Pacific Island Discovery 2006

Itinerary

 

June 15, 2006- July 3, 2006

 

Day 1 Depart for Nadi, Fiji June 15- Meet your fellow Ambassadors as well as your Leaders for your flight to Nadi, Fiji.

 

Day 2 En Route June 16- Cross the International Date Line to Nadi, Fiji

 

Day 3 Sigatoka, Fiji June 17- Arrive in Fiji to be greeted by your Delegation Manager. Leave the airport to go explore the Kula Eco Park.

Day 4 Sigatoka, Fiji June 18- Journey to Rivers Fiji to go kayaking and learn about the Mangroves.

 

Day 5 Sigatoka, Fiji June 19- Go to a Fiji school to see how other parts of the world learn.

Day 6 Sigatoka, Fiji June 20- Travel to one of the Culture Centers in Fiji to learn about their culture, and how they lived in ancient times.

Day 7 Sigatoka, Fiji June 21- Wake up early for a bus ride to the Marina. Where you’ll take the former generals boat out to Mystery Island. Spend the day with some of the Fiji students met days before.

Day 8 Auckland/Rotorua June 22- Welcome to Auckland, The City of Sails. After leaving the airport with Delegation Manager/ Bus Driver, Journey down to Rotorua, a spa town.

Day 9 Rotorua, June 23- Take a 20 min drive up to Tui Ridge, where learning to step outside your comfort zone is a good thing.

 

Day 10 Bay of Plenty June 24- Walk through the Rotorua Museum to learn about Maori culture. Continue to Mount Ngongataha, taking a gondola up to the top then taking a luge ride down to the bottom.

 

Day 11 Bay of Plenty June 25- This morning journey up to Action Station, where you’ll walk through a bush walk, and make a flower out of flax plant. Tonight go to Maori meetinghouse where you’ll be staying. Learn about how the Maori go threw everyday life.

Day 12- 13 Homestay June 26-27- Stay with a family to learn how New Zealanders spend everyday life. If school is in session have the opportunity to go to school.

 

Day 14 Near Auckland June 28- Leave your Homestay family to join the group to travel to MERC. At MERC participate in team building activities. 

 

Day 15 Travel to Sydney June 29- Leave Auckland very early in the morning for the flight to Sydney. After the flight gather your things for a trip to the Olympic park and aquatic pools for a swim.

 

Day 16 Sydney, June 30- If school is in session go to NSW School to learn Aussie subjects. Explore the Sydney Opera house featuring a concert hall, and Opera theater.

 

Day 17 Sydney July 1- Journey to the Australia museum to learn about Aboriginals. Make your way to the Taronga zoo to look at Koalas and Kangaroos. Dine at the Hard Rock Café for dinner.

 

Day 18 Sydney July 2- Explore the Blue Mountains. Learning about the Three Sisters as well the rest of the Blue Mountains. Pose for a group photo at Mrs. Macquarie's Chair. Enjoy a dinner cruise around the Harbor.

Day 19 Sydney/Back to the US July 3- Explore the Hyde Pak Barracks before going to the Airport to fly back to the US.
