What is this DeMolay thing?
DeMolay is for young men between the ages of 12 and 21. It is in existence to help the young men of today become the great leaders of tomorrow. DeMolay teaches many qualities that you will find very useful in everyday life. Public speaking, organization, and basic virtues are just a few of the many teachings. Although we have been compared to the Boy Scouts, we are about as similar as light and dark. The only similarities are we are a group for boys, and that we meet. In DeMolay we work more on the character of a boy rather than the skills of survival. We also have been compared to church youth groups, again we are nothing like them. In DeMolay we teach no religious creed, your religious preference is your own. There are tons and tons of different religions inside the circle of our organization. The seven basic virtues we teach are love for your parents, reverence, courtesy, comradeship, faithfulness, cleanness, and patriotism.
