Psychic Types

As Lisa and Tate tell you, Calm Mind is the perfect move for Psychic types. Many Psychic types have above average Special Attack and Special Defense. As soon as you use Calm Mind, even super-effective moves may only let your Psychic Pokemon lose less than 10 HP. Psychic is also a move that will be super-effective against some otherwise hard to KO Pokemon. With a boost from Calm Mind, your Special Attack moves will be stronger than ever. But as always, remember that Calm Mind's effect disappears if you switch out your Psychic Pokemon and some Psychic types have low defense stats so keep tham away from Pokemon that have strong Attack stats!

Espeon evolves from Eevee with lots of love. Espeon has very high Special Attack and Speed. Wobuffet is one Pokemon that can easily be beaten by Espeon. Espeon can use Calm Mind while Wobuffet fails to Mirror Coat. Espeon then has maximum Special Attack and can use Bite to KO Wobuffet. Not many Pokemon can be faster than Espeon and when Espeon lauches a Psychic attack against a Poison Pokemon, it might just faint after one move. Espeon can also learn Morning Sun, which will recover its HP.


Spoink is a bouncing Pokemon that can learn Psywave. Spoink evolves into Grumpig and can be found in Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald in the Jagged Pass. It is a pure Psychic type that has the capability of doing well in Smart Contests.
