Ratings are special. They represent a player's thought. So read these here if you haven't bought the games.
They are like the special previews for you unless you've read our guides. So please enjoy the ratings I wrote.

Comments:
Pokemon XD is a game with a ridiculous storyline and is not a real challenge to complete. This game takes a lot of time to complete and offers Pokemon that are not too rare. Many of the Pokemon offerred in POkemon Xd are offerred elsewhere. The only notable Pokemon that are somewhat exclusive to POkemon XD are Lugia, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totadile. The 3 starters from Johto can also be found in Pokemon Emerald but they learn a special elemental "Hyper Beam" in POkemon XD. Chikorita learns Frenzy Plant, Totodile learns Hydro Cannon, and Cyndaquil learns Blast Burn. The only other Pokemon that can learn those moves are Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur. Pokemon XD does have its good points besides getting POkemon. It allows faster trading and offers 3-D battling. Otherwise, you don't really get to choose which POkemon you want to get, because there is a set limit to the POkemon you can get besides trading. And trading comes after you beat Verich so it won't really help you snag any POkemon. After you beat Verich, there is not much to do except to go to the Orre Colloseum and get the Lucky Egg. The Lucky Egg is another reason to get Pokemon XD but you can also get the Lucky Egg attached to a Chansey in Pokemon LeafGreen/FireRed. But the probability that you can get one is small if you didn't get Pokemon Xd. To get the Lucky Egg, you only have to beat 4 trainers with the same level as your highest level Pokemon. I think it's not a hard task for those who excell in training Pokemon. At that time, you can trade Pokemon from your other games to Pokemon XD. The downside to Pokemon Xd is that the people who battle you look the same and don't have much style to them. Mostly you will see Cipher Peons that are ridiculous and your goal isn't to level up your POkemon. You have to snag other Pokemon. The purpose of the game makes POkemon Xd lose a lot of points since it makes a game a challenge and also a boring game(Paradox). You can't use Wi-Fi either and you have to buy a Nintendo GameCube. Even POkemon that you don't want to get are there for you to be snagged. If you don't want to snag them, it's alright, but then the purpose of the game collapses. The Cipher society is ridiculous and the game is expensive as compared to the handheld games. The handheld games give you more of an adventure and challenge. Pokemon XD just gives you a new storyline to keep you entertained for a while. Some of the snagging places are boring and once you keep snagging Pokemon, it gets redundant. Sometimes, you have to complete boring puzzles and watch boring scenes. Pokemon Xd is also not as long as the handheld games(by long, I mean the time to finish the game). Of course, I mean if you don't trade anything into your POkemon Ruby/Sapphire before you beat the Elite Four. POkemon Xd has an upside too. You can trade Kanto POkemon unlike Pokemon Colloseum which you could only trade Hoemn POkemon. Pokemon Xd again has another downside when the Fourth Generation came out. You can't trade any of your Pokemon to POkemon Diamond/Pearl and you can't battle there. Therefore there is the Battle Revolution Game for Nintendo Wii for that. With the Nintendo Wii out, POkemon XD seems to have lost most of its upsides except for a ridiculous story.

Comments:Pokemon LeafGreen is a wonderful game at the start especially if you've played Pokemon Yellow/Green/Red/Blue. You hear the same music and you remeber those POkemon that couldn't be traded over to the Third Generation. You start off with Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander(Pick one, I don't mean all of them). Just like before. If you've played Pokemon yellow, you know that this an advantage, because then, you had to catch Nidorin and have it learn Double Kick to beat Brock(Alas, that was what I used back in those training days). Now, you don't have to catch a new POkemon to beat Brock. IF you've played Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire, you'll find that waiting to get those Running shoes is somewhat annoying because you have to wait until you beat Brock. Also, you need to have a certain number of Pokemon in your Pokedex to get certain items(like the Everstone). But in POkemon LeafGreen, you have the VS seeker which is much better(Way better) than Match call or the device you have in POkemon Ruby/Sapphire. It is much better than any device in any of the Pokemon Games except for Pokemon Diamond/Pearl which uses the same item. Pokemon LeafGreen/FireRed also gives a bonus to the whole game. It lets you go to the Sevii islands. You can catch Mewtwo and the 3 lengendary birds. You can also get Suicune/Raikou/Entei. The only downside to the whole game is that you don't actually see any new Pokemon wheras in Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire, you cast your eyes on different Pokemon that you've never seen. Pokemon LeafGreen gives you many of the Kanto Pokemon and some of the Johto Pokemon. The Elite Four increases in level after you beat them the first time unlike the other games, where they stay at the same level. The Elite Four give you lots of points and tests your strength more than the other games(because of Gary). Gary's team is more balanced than the other Champions in the past(Except for himself in Pokemon Yellow). Other Champions like Lance specialized in Dragon Types, like Wallace specialized in Water Types, like Steven spcialized in Steel Types. Gary almost doesn't have a place where you can just have one Pokemon that has the advantage. His team even changes with the different selection of your starter. THe largest difference that I see in him is his Eevee. It has disappeared. It used to be that if you had a Vaporeon, he would use Jolteon(But my Vaporeon beat his Jolteon weirdly. Weak Jolteon. Bad job on Gary's part). Much stays the same. The story line is alright and the whole game is entertaining. Also you get a special move for your starter if you love it very much. But your starter has to be a second stage Pokemon like Blastoise. Blastoise learns Hydro Cannon, Venusaur learns Frenzy Plant, and Charizard learns Blast Burn. An addition to the Third generation is your Eevee. In other 3rd generation games, you can't get an Eevee anywhere except if you trade over your Eevee from Pokemon LeafGreen.

Comments:Even if you've played the other two games(Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire), Pokemon Emerald is great. It immerses you into the world of the Battle Frontier. The Battle Frontier is awesome. I got addicted to it totally and couldn't stop playing until I got a symbol. It totally attracts you and makes you stay glued. It has many new and exciting additions like the Mirage tower, Marine Cave, and Terra Cave. You can now catch both Kyogre and Groudon. You can also call trainers and have a double battle against Maxie and Tabitha with Steven. The Elite FOur is still there but everything else is great. You can rebattle those Gym Leader 2 on 2. There are new puzzles to be solved. The game is great except you can't trade Pokemon from Pokemon LEafGreen/FireRed until the credits run. That's why I gave it 5 stars. Nothing less. |
