Shoot Report.
This years champs were blessed with good weather. The sun shone for us all weekend. The turnout was the biggest yet and feedback on the courses was very positive. Even having to climb a ladder to get to part of the course didn’t seem to cause any problems, although it was recommended, by some competitors, that any true Scotsman in the group, who was wearing a kilt, should climb it last.
The raffle raised £192.36 and the landowner kindly added this years car park takings of £338 to the pot, making a grand total of £530.36 to go to the Edward Bright Fund.
We hope you’ll all pencil next years shoot on March 22nd & 23rd, and join us again in Bonnie Scotland.
Assembly.

Heading out.

Shoot Report.
Firstly, I would like to thank everyone one who gave their support and encouragement to me, on what I can only describe as the steepest learning curve I have ever come across. Not only had I never done admin for a shoot before, but I had never worked on the Excel computer programme either! However it appears, from all the phone calls and emails I have received since, that I got it right.
This year we sent out car park passes in advance, which meant we only needed one person on the gate, and it kept the vehicles moving smoothly.
The weather was kind to us considering the gales and torrential rain we suffered in the week running up to the event. It was mainly dry and the sun shone, most of the time, although the wind was a bit gusty up at the top of the hill on day two.
From an entry of 340 archers, 333 headed out from assembly on day one and the first arrow was shot at 11am. The courses were tough and deceptive but everyone who spoke to Alan enjoyed it, although his parentage was called into question on a number of occasions!!!!
Day two was very similar with only three archers less than day one. Assembly was called at 10am catching some archers on the hop and the first group came back in at about 4.30pm.
Everyone was called in for the results at about 6.30pm.
We asked the two expectant mums, Samantha Gascoigne and Jo Canes, to be joint Lady Paramount’s and they kindly agreed. Alan commented that their foetuses had been to their first champs and the next generation of archers was on the way. This was met with laughter and a round of applause for the ladies.
I would like to thank those who offered to put in their time to help with marshalling. Also to our dedicated team of workers who were out helping Alan in all weathers during the week before the shoot and special thanks go to Samantha Boulton (the Excel expert) and her family for their help with getting the results out in record time.
Most of all, I would like to thank all of the archers who took part and gave us all a very enjoyable weekend. I’m already looking forward to next year. We hope you will all join us again in 2007.
Barbara Turnbull.
Eric Nock was shooting HT and hit the target in exactly the same spot that Rachael Smith's Crossbow bolt had landed. The result is shown in the picture below!!!!%20&%20Eric%20Nock%20(HT).jpg)
