Welcome to the first Audio Karate fan site on the internet

News

04th of July 2007
Audio Karate have posted a new demo tilted "Saturday Night" on their myspace page, check that out here. They've also re-uploaded Segway, which is a B-side from Lady Melody and worth checking out if you haven't heard it. There's also a couple of really cool live videos from the 2004 Warped Tour that have been uploaded to Youtube, which you can check out here. Enjoy.

Argh! Sorry for the huge lack of updates, I'm going to try and keep the site more up to date from now on.

A lot has been going on with Audio Karate, as I'm sure you'll probably already know. Gabriel unfortunately left the band to pursue another career, which really does suck because he's one of the best drummers I've ever heard. I wish him luck with whatever he's doing now.

Audio Karate have been writing, recording and producing the soundtrack for an independent film called Maquillaje which was described as "
kind of a dark thing about botched love and suicide and all those fun things.". The film will be at film festivals by the end of the year. Four songs were made available on Myspace for a limited amount of time titled Dead Wife, Monica Omar, No Te Preocupas and Southside. In a Myspace blog Jason commented that the songs "sound nothing like audiokarate songs, they're a lot of keys and funny instruments and have Art singing in a bunch of funny keys." and while the songs were very different from other Audio Karate music they generally got good reception from the fans.

Jason has also opened his own studio, called "Lady Melody Studio". There's some more information on that here.

I'm going to try and get around to updating the website soon, seeing as this layout looks a bit dated compared to my current web-designing abilities. I'll try and make one with a link back to the home page this time, I promise.

Jason posted an update on the message board yesterday informing that tentative recording time has been booked for January, and that they're speculating a summer '06 release of the new record. You can read that post here. Also, I found out yesterday that if you live outside of the US you're going to have to wait until the 1st of August to get the new Kung Fu Records compilation disk with the Blasting Rooms version of She Looks Good on it.

Some very good Audio Karate news was announced by Jason on the forum yesterday. The unreleased version of She Looks Good which was recorded at the Blasting Rooms last winter is being put onto the next Kung Fu Records compilation CD, "Punk Rock is Your Friend 6: hardcore is your friend too". The CD is set to be released on the 12th of July and, in tradition, will be dirt cheap, so you don't have an excuse to pick it up and rock out to this unreleased treasure. If the demo version is anything to go by, this is going to be a classic.

29th of April

Sorry the updates have been very sparse as of late, I've been busy with coursework and what not. I've updated the Biography to contain information up to the time of writing. I'd also like to inform anyone who hasn't been checking the message board lately that a few updates have been posted informing us what's going on in the Audio Karate world.

19th of February

In case you missed it, there's was a video interview with audio karate added to the kung fu records page on Monday, check it out here. Also, I've added a new Press Photo, check that out here. I've added a new link too.

Happy New Year AK-doggs! Sorry I've not been updating much lately. My friend Ante did a Tab of Jason (off Space Camp) to put on the site, you can have a look at that here. Also, I'm proud to announce I am now owner of the Paper Bag demo (Wahoo!) It was still in the original plastic wrapping stuff when I got it, how about that... I'll post some pictures or something soon. Watch this space. Peace out.

I'm sure anybody who went to see AK with The Vandals and the God Awfuls touring the UK doesn't need me to tell how amazing the shows were, and I'm sure I speak for everyone who went when I say thank you very much Art, Gabe, Jason and Justo for coming back to play another set of shows in the UK! You guys rule. Oh and also I'd like to thank anyone who printed off and stuck up some of my flyers. Okay, I found a really cool article earlier today which you can find by clicking here, It's a review of Lady Melody and interview with Jason rolled into one, how convenient! The guys have posted a message on the board saying they'll be taking the rest of the year and a good portion of next year writing music for the next CD and thanking their fans for all the support given during 2004, check that out here. So I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Audio Karate for making such a great CD and coming to play in our towns, and wish them good luck for next year. Enjoy your hard earned break guys.

I've updated the tablature page, my friend Dave sent me a tab for The End Wont Justify The Means and it's very good, so I thought I'd share it with you.

I've changed the layout totally this time... the old one just looked bad. I've also put up a new press photo from the Space Camp era and I've got another I'm gonna put it later in the week.  There's also a wallpaper I made in the Media section and I've added a couple of cool links to the links page as well.

Just a quick update, I've found yet another press photo, go to the pictures section to find it. Also I stumbled on a nice little site the other day go over and have a look: http://homepage.mac.com/nweaver/PhotoAlbum25.html

27th of August

I found another press photo and uploaded it, go to the pictures section to find it. I've also updated the Tablature page with a link to a One Day guitar tab and Gypsy Queen guitar pro tab (unfortunately you need the program guitar pro to get this one but you can download a trial version on the site). Some wallpapers and such I made will be finding their way onto the media page soon.

15th of August

I've finally changed the layout, I hope this is easier on the eyes. I've also added a pictures section with a few press photos and a handful of the photos I took when I went to see them at Stoke on Trent, enjoy.

4th of August

AK will be touring in the UK with the Vandals and the God Awfuls. In true AK UK fashion I've posted the tour dates here. Also I've been working on a flash intro but it takes too long to load at the moment (its about 200kb). You can see it
here.

22nd of July

Site has been moved over to freewebs it keeps going weird at geocities. The guys have almost finished their UK tour and I'd like to take a moment to thank them and all the support bands for putting on such a great set of shows. Expect a review and some photos from the Stoke show shortly. I'll also get to work on the lyrics I've been too lazy to write out.

29th of June

OK, the site is almost finished now, I still need to write down the Space Camp and Lady Melody lyrics though. I made the discography more comprehensive too by adding compilations that have Audio Karate songs on them. Also I crawled all over the web looking for guitar and bass tabs so you don't have to (still no sign of drum tabs sorry). Remember, whore the e-card http://audiokarate.com/ecard/

22nd of June

Head over to www.audiokarate.com, the new message board is up and it looks great, also send the e-card to absolutely everyone you know to spread around the tour info (plus you can stream the first half of the CD for all you undecided cheapskates out there).
