Hello Lucio
Sorry for the delay responding but I had to find out more information.
The SW towers and other facilities are in good condition, but the
transmitters are not, thus the problems you have hearing Radio
Vanuatu on SW at present.
As part of an international aid program, the MW and SW transmitters
are being replaced. The two NZ funded new MW transmitters are on air
and operating well on 1125 and 1179 and providing excellent MW
coverage.
However, the new Australian government seems to be reviewing its part
of the aid program, and, as a result, the new DRM capable SW
transmitters have still not arrived in Vanuatu.
A technician was due to fly out about now to install them but his
visit is postponed until the project resumes. Just when that will be
is currently uncertain.
Thanks for your kind words about our projects.

Segundo Anker Petersen as ondas médias e as emissoras internacionais ainda resistirão.

Sometimes they mentions “Radiocomunicación Roco” what could generates doubt, and should sounds like “Radio...Co”, “Radio Eco”. Radiocomunicación Roco maybe is the name of the owner of R. La Cruz del Sur.

Dear Lucio,

A very interesting observation, you made! But the audio is very noisy and difficult to understand, but I think I heard the ID.

I kept listening and recording 4451KHz as R. Cruz del Sur, BOL, then checking later this recordings, heard something readable as “R. Santana” or maybe “Guantana”. Some two days before it, the Brazilian dxer Rogildo Aragao, who reside in Bolivia, informed me that on 4451KHz is R. Santa Ana, Santana de Yacuma, Beni  BOL. But the reason of so many mentions heard on 4451KHz of R. Cruz del Sur is now for me, unknowable. Below, link to audio file that contains male announcing “R. Santana” or maybe “R.Guantana”.        very short audio file 98kbt, 8 seconds: http://geocities.yahoo.com.br/eefibra/r.lacruzdelsur.r.guantana4450khz0208.mp3
