Thanks to "Saint" (St Helens fan) who provided info on website.
St Helens Town F.C. play their home games at St Helens R.L.F.C. The ground holds somewhere between 17,500 and 19,100 depending on which web site you are looking at. Unfortunately, the soccer club only have an average gate of 64!
Official Transport
The supporters bus will depart North St at 10.45 am. We had hoped to be stopping off at a pub in the North Liverpool area, but due to the fact that we have been unable to find a suitable venue, and, that we don't yet know which way the coach will take, we have, it seems, two choices. If we go via M1/M62 we may have to go straight to St Helens. Or, if we go via the M6 we may be able to stop off at The Helter Skelter at Frodsham. The Helter Skelter is like a European bar, all wood blinds, small tables, high stools and bar rests, but features a good range of beers from micro-breweries. If we go straight to the town, there are are a number of pubs that have the Cask Marque creditation (including Wetherspoons), and a couple that are listed in the good beer guide. We will be able to pick up at either South Normanton or Swanwick, depending on what route the driver takes. Ask at time of booking. Full details will appear as soon as we have them.
As always the price is £10 all adults and £5 u16's, and we will be heading back to Alfreton straight after the final whistle.
We have already taken more than the usual amount of bookings but have a 49 seater coach so there should be room if you want to join us. Call Mark on 01773 836251.

There are one or two different routes to take depending on you personal preference. It's either A38 to Derby - A50 to Stoke, and up the M6. Or for me it would have to be via M1 north and west along the M62. Whichever way you go you should end up at the same junction - J21 M6 & J10 M62. If you are going via the M6, I would carry straight on past J21 with the M62, and up to J23. If you are heading in on the M62, I would exit at J10 and head north up the M6 to J23. At J23 you need to turn left on to the A580. After approx 5 miles turn right on to the A570 Rianford Rd (St Helens town centre). Take the first right turn into the B5201 Bleakhill Rd. Follow the road onto where it changes to Millbrook Lane at the junction with Kiln Lane on the left and Gunning lane on the right. A sharpish left bend takes you onto Mill Brow and a little further, to the junction with Knowsley Rd. Turn right and you will see the ground just ahead to the right.
You can get in from the M62 but this road looks a little busy to me.
Pubs
The nearest pub to the ground is The Black Bull. large, spacious pub.
