We were unable to find a suitable pub close enough to the ground that would take either children or coaches, and as it is a relative short journey for this league,  we decided to stop just over the Leicestershire boarder, just about at the half way mark, at Hemmington. We had already arranged with the landlord, a stop off at The Jolly Sailor.

I don't think he expected a 49 seat coach, but we were warmly welcomed! A good selection of beers were available and he even brought some more up from the cellar in a bid to keep us there a little longer. The food form the bar menu was equally as splendid as the beer. We had a good hour and a half of good beer and good food and the landlord made a few quid so everyone was happy. If we are ever down that neck of the woods again we will certainly call in again.

A short hop down the M1 and M69 and we were in Hinckley for our second ever visit to the Marston Stadium. Personally I'm not a fan of new grounds and The Marston Stadium has a feel just like all the others. The Hinckley fans always make quite a bit of noise though and they certainly do their part in creating a very good atmosphere.

They are a friendly bunch and this is extended into the large but uninteresting club house. 2-2 was a fair result and it was an entertaining game for the 611 crowd, and the reds were urged on all the way by the 50 or 60 who ventured down from Derbyshire.
