       ABOUT 'ASTRO DAVE'

David was the chief lecturer at the Port Macquarie Observatory, situated on the mid-north coast of N.S.W. for 10 years presenting live astronomy shows three times weekly for up to 150 overseas and interstate visitors per night.

Currently, David is the news editor of SKY&SPACE Magazine writing articles, news stories, and editing a mass circulation weekly email newsletter. David also teaches astronomy at college level, he’s an invited speaker at Astronomy conventions throughout Australia, and is a highly respected science correspondent for the media speaking on over 20 stations each week across the country on Astronomy and Space Science issues. Dave is now SKY & SPACE’S prime radio correspondent.

Dave has had extensive experience in radio. He hosted his own radio program on a major regional station for 12 years. For this work he won two major Australasian awards for services to radio. A sought after speaker for various social, sporting and recreational groups, David regularly gives his time freely for various fundraising activities within his community.

 David is an experienced astronomy presenter who has entertained and educated thousands of people with his astronomy shows in clubs, halls, hotels and motels all across Australia, and he’s developed a style of presenting astronomy to the public which is not only interesting, but incredibly unique as well.

Since 2004, David has been touring most of the primary and secondary schools throughout N.S.W. introducing a new interactive astronomy & space education program he’s developed called ‘Astronomy Outreach'. Designed especially for Australian school students, it gives them a refreshing new look at what's happening in the night sky and gives them practical, hands on experience in the use of modern telescopes.

 David has an enthusiasm which is infectious, and it shows in his presentations. He promises that anyone attending his lectures will walk out with a much greater knowledge and appreciation of the universe around them.

David currently produces a range of educational CD ROMs and DVDs on astronomy and space science for beginners.
