Welcome To Astronomy For Children !
Our vision is to give children an alternative to getting involved with drugs, gangs, and alcohol.
The children we are working with range in ages from 8 to 18 years old.
We are doing this by teaching them basic astronomy.
We provide all materials and equipment for the children to use.
As the children develop an interest, we provide them with a telescope and equipment for their personal home use, which they get to keep.
The older children in the program also help with the younger children.
In addition, we are helping others set up programs similar to this in other states.
Currently, we have approximately 25 children either interested in or already a part of the program and a waiting list of about 10 children who need equipment of their own.We do accept equipment donations.
There are no paid employees or directors in this program. Everyone involved is on a volunteer basis only.
