FAQs In addition to this section, see the “Methods and Equipment” page of this
website for more information on the Reach and Wash system etc. At Clearview we have tried our best
to create a web site that informs and explains key matters for our customers
- both existing and potential. We have tried to cover the most common topics
and questions that customers ask. With that goal in mind please we have
compiled a list of frequently asked questions ["FAQs"]. We
anticipate that this list will evolve over time. If you don't find an answer
to your question here, please contact us. Payment: We will agree this with you prior to
undertaking the work. If you are in the premises when we clean them, you may
pay us once we have finished cleaning, by cheque or cash. What if we’re not in when you call to collect? If you are not in we will leave a
note confirming that we have cleaned, the next time we call to clean if you
are not in, we will then leave another slip and a S.A.E. for payment. Payment
would then have to be received before we would be due to clean again. Cleaning frequency: Weather permitting; we will call to
clean on a regular day every two to four weeks, as per our agreement with
you. Do you clean in bad weather such as rain? Often yes, to maintain a regular
reliable service we will clean in all but the worst inclement weather, such
as very heavy rain and dangerously strong winds. How much will it cost me? It will only be possible to give you
a price once we have surveyed your property. Price would be dependent on many
factors, including frequency, property location, the types and sizes of
windows and accessibility of the building[s] and the windows. Price increases: At the beginning of each financial
year [every April] the cost of having your property cleaned will have to be
reasonably increased, in line with standard retail price inflation and other
influences upon the market. How does using the Reach and In any service industry, prices are
directly related to risks. The greater the risks, the higher the price, as
“danger money” is necessitated. The hire of expensive cherry pickers inflates
prices greatly. Reach and Wash system removes many risks, removing the need
for high-access equipment. Therefore, we are able to pass on such savings to
our customers. In terms of, quantification, it is a difficult question to
answer specifically, due to the idiosyncrasies of every job. From past
experience, we can typically saving our customers around 30-40% of their
total window cleaning costs, by using this system. This is in comparison with
the more conventional methods used before, such as ladders etc. What method do you use to clean the windows? On top of the pole is a nylon brush
head with a small channel that jets out a constant supply of pure water.
First we clean the frames and then the glass by moving the brush head (which
is constantly wet) over them. We then rinse the windows and frames and leave
to dry to a spot free finish. How can pure water not leave any streaks or droplets? Unlike tap water or rainwater, which
contain natural mineral deposits, pollutants and other chemicals, our water
is cleaned of every unwanted element and is therefore “clear.” We do this by
using a technique called reverse osmosis which is a kind of filtration
process. The end result is 100% pure H2O [water]. Because of this
purity, there is literally nothing within it that can leave a deposit on the
windows! How do you get a constant supply of water and where do you treat
it? Our water is treated on our premises
using a twelve hour, five stage filtration process. Once this process has
been completed, we transfer the water into our specially adapted vehicles
which have 1000 litre holding tanks on-board. We then transport this water on
site, where it is pumped through the light, strong and flexible carbon fibre
poles onto the brush heads and ultimately onto the surface to be cleaned. Are the poles heavy? How do you control them when they are so
high? The poles are made from high quality
carbon fibre which is a very light but extremely strong material. As it is so
strong and durable we can easily control the poles without too much strength
being required nor risk of bending movement. When working on heights in
excess of 40 feet we always work in pairs with one person continuously
checking the surrounding ground area. We anxious to be as “green” as possible, so what about the
environment? Are any chemicals used during this filtration process? No. All filters contain natural
elements such as salt, resin beads and carbon sediment and are
environmentally safe. Can the treated water damage or stain my property or building? No. More staining or damage is caused
from the pollutants in untreated water and from atmospheric water such as
rain. Do you give free demonstrations and quotations? Yes. We regularly give free, no
obligation demonstrations and quotations. All demonstrations are carried out
by regular operatives, not by sales representatives. Do you supply and sell the Reach and No, this system is available from
specialist suppliers only. |
