They can’t all be idealistic or have smiling faces… they need to be grumpy, moan and groan about stupid things and have a unique flare in their life.”
Her main character, Annlinn Ryan-Heart, is dark, mysterious and a very realistic person. She’s a teenager with teenage problems and an oddball outlook on her life. Nothing seems as it should… it’s all a little to surreal and strange for her… Well what can you expect from a newly instated princess! Her friends are all that matters in her life as well as pleasing her always judging father… but life for Annlinn used to be so much simpler…
She was a beach girl interested in a few things. Surfing, dancing, friends, Jagger, getting no schoolwork, did she mention Jagger? But in one night that was snatched a way from her in an instance… she is now a princess against her own will and hates it… like any other kid her age she doesn’t want have any high expectations made of her because of her title. Hell no! She only wants to go back and play in the sand again.

Ashling O’ Neill, the author of Jack Ryan-Heart writes her character with a humorous and slightly strange twist. Her character is optimistic but can be dark at times especially when challenged.
“Jack and the others are a joy to write, I get the inspiration for them from my family and friends and the strangest of places! I try my best to give them believable personalities and human quirks i.e. Jack laughs at the most inappropriate moments kind of like me and Jagger is unbelievably vain, luckily I can say honestly I’m not too vain, but I like looking mirrors *laughs* ”
Her main character, Jack Ryan-Heart, is a street-smart, kind-hearted punk with a bit of an attitude problem when he is challenged.
He’s a teenager going up on the tough city slum streets of the Nui-Mon district where the population is mostly ex-convicts and drug dealers. Jack hates the city and more than anything wants to go home back to his mom and dad and sit on the beach with his friends. The only good thing about the city is Mia Banks but that’s because she’s just like Adraine… His missing girlfriend… through his life he learns the ways of gangland fighting, drugs, drink and the act of being a thief all for the sake of “fitting in” but sooner or later Jack will learn the true meaning of the streets. What that is, only Jack knows…
