5/30/07 - NEWS

Apparently Shaun Cassidy still likes to sing (and is willing to let audiences hear him)!!  After making his first onstage benefit performance in 12 years in the 'by side, by side, by side, by Sondheim' show in March to benefit APLA, Shaun is now listed as a performer at the REAF benefit to be held in San Francisco on August 5th.  Below is the information gleaned from the recent press release:

According to TVweek.com, Joost (an online video service) will begin offering tv shows from the WB and it includes Invasion!!! (and for those of you Bill Mumy fans, they will also offer Babylon 5)  Other "classic" shows will also be shown, so check out the link to see the list of them.

                From BroadwayWorld.com:
                Stars of theatre, film and television gathered last weekend (March 10 and 11) for the 23rd Annual Southland Theatre Artists Goodwill Event (S.T.A.G.E.), the longest continuously running AIDS benefit in the world, raising more than $300,000 for AIDS Project Los Angeles.  This year saluting the music of Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim, the David Galligan-directed By Side By Side By Side By Side by Stephen Sondheim played two SRO performances at The Wilshire Theatre in Beverly Hills.

                 Television writer-producer Shaun Cassidy came out of musical retirement for the first time in 12 years (the last time he sang on stage was for another S.T.A.G.E. benefit) to join his brother Patrick on “Agony” from Into the Woods.

              The STAGE benefit set for this year by APLA is a tribute to Stephen Sondheim.  According to numerous sources, included on the list of performers are David, Shaun and Patrick Cassidy along with their mother, Shirley Jones.  There have been, however, unverified, conflicting reports that Shaun is not performing at this benefit.  Unfortunately, the APLA/STAGE site has not yet been updated for this year's benefit and I have been unable to call myself to see which information is correct.  If you would like to go to the STAGE site itself, please click here.  If you would like to see the Playbill.com article, please click here.

Hi everyone!  I forgot to put this in before I left, but I am on vacation until March 17th.  I am currently in CA, then I'm off to San Antonio (to see Patrick in Joseph).  I actually had the opportunity today to see Shirley Jones at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center.  The show was wonderful and I will fill you all in when I get back.  Until then...have fun.  I'm sure I'll have TONS of updates when I get back (considering how far behind I was before I left!)

According to TVShowsonDVD.com the third season of Murder, She Wrote will be released on March 14th (my birthday coincidentally...just in case any of you are looking to get me a little something!).  As Shaun fans know, the third season includes the episode Murder in a Minor Key which has a guest starring role by none other than Mr. Cassidy himself!  Click on the link to get the full news about this release.

                 It was reported by the Boston Globe on November 12th that..."Shaun Cassidy was in town to catch baby brother Patrick starring in ''Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," which closes tomorrow at the Colonial Theatre."

                Also, an interesting bit of trivia!  It seems that Shaun Cassidy makes an "appearance" (albeit uncredited...LOL) in the Partridge Family second season episode "Anatomy of a Tonsil".  Apparently he is one of the kids in line when Danny holds his "auditions".

               MAJOR UPDATES!  The site has been revamped to include a brand new Invasion Home Page
               From there, the Invasion information will branch out via links.  Some of the links will bring you to an individual page, others will bring you to to another page of links.  Sound confusing?  Well it will HOPEFULLY make it easier to navigate directly to the material you want to see!  Let me know if there are any problems with the links or if you are having trouble viewing anything (I'm sure there will be glitches!)  Also, there are some links that are not active yet on the Invasion Home Page.  This is because these pages are still under construction.  I will hopefully have them up and running by the end of the week!  The only 2 of the Invasion pages that are listed in the NavBar are the Invasion Home Page and the Invasion Photo Galleries page.  I will still post any updates for the site here on the Site Updates/News page.  That being said...on to the regular Updates!

8/10/05 - GREAT NEWS about the "official" American Gothic DVD release can be found on the American Gothic page (follow the link in the Updates Page)!!!  For those of you who viewed this before 6:30 p.m. EST, there is a further update regarding Mr. Cassidy in relation to this DVD release!!!  There are also an updates on the Invasion (link in Updates) and Shirley Jones (link in Family Matters) pages!

8/8/05 - OK...As you can see, there are MANY new changes to ASCS!!!  I hope you like them.  Whether you do or don't, please let me know!  The survey is informative for me and lets me know when people do/don't like the changes I'm making!  I've added a page for The Agency (the link can be found on the Updates page) and there was something in the news about the show...check it out!  There is also an update on the David Cassidy page (follow his link in "Family Matters").

I was told by a number of people that my guestbook was not functioning.  For all of you who told me...thank you! It (should be) up and functioning correctly now!

I have put up some new photos (some of which include Mr. Cassidy) on the Cast of Invasion page (link in the Updates page).  This page will eventually be moved...it's just in a temporary home right now.

I am also working on getting the links straight.  The way it is going to work (for now) is that that all links that send you to another of my site's pages will NOT open in a new window.  All links that send you to another site WILL open in a new window.  I'm still fiddling around with this site, so nothing is exactly "permanent".  If there's a change you don't like or if you do like it...let me know!!

I have also added a Poll which you will see a link to in the NavBar at the left (ASCS Polls).  I'm just trying to get a feel for what people are looking at.  This poll is just asking what your favorite SPC t.v. show is.  I really hope you will all participate!!!

I have to apologize for no updates yesterday.  It's not that there was no news!  Freewebs was doing maintenance....*SIGH*...I sent them a "note" asking them to please, next time, give the owners of the site fair warning!!  Sorry folks!

I have added a new link to the NavBar at the left (ASCS Survey).  It is a SMALL survey that should take you mere moments to fill out.  I'm asking all visitors to the site to fill it out because, it is with your help that I can make A Shaun Cassidy Site that much better!  You don't have to fill out ALL the questions if you don't want to...you don't even have to leave your name!  But I would appreciate all your suggestions/comments!

7/29/05 - Here we go again folks! The reviews on Invasion are coming in fast and furious and you can find them ALL on the UPDATES page!

7/29/05 - Meant to put this in the updates page yesterday...but forgot.  The series premiere date for Invasion has been set (according to several sources) as September 21, 2005.  This is the same premiere date as Lost which SHOULD make it a FANTASTIC night!  (On a side note, it's pretty cool that Invasion's premiere is almost EXACTLY 10 years after the series premiere of (IMO) Mr. Cassidy's last GREAT show...American Gothic.  AG premiered on September 22, 1995!)

7/28/05 - OK...I've got TONS of stuff on the UPDATES page about Invasion!  The news has been plentiful today!    The t.v. schedule page has also been updated!

4/26/05 - I just wanted to let you all know that I have FINALLY done my first "In My Opinion" ("IMO") on Shaun Cassidy's first movie, "Strays".  (Some of you may notice that I originally planned on doing the first IMO on "The Mountain", but I just couldn't find enough "viewing time" to watch it this month.  Hopefully it will be my next endeavor.)  It was a lot of fun to do and I hope to hear from EVERYONE.  The more opinions, the better!  I have also updated the TV Schedule for May...Happy Viewing!

4/22/05 - Just thought I'd let you all know.  I have found a way of sharing my photos without them being "stolen".  If you go to the "Photo Galleries" page, you will see a link there.  Click on the link and you will see the photos that I took at Rusty's last year when Shaun got up on stage with The Jenerators to sing!  I would have liked to have been able to just post the photos on the site (instead of using a link), but I have yet to come up with any way of doing it...so this will have to do for now.  If I do find something that will allow me to publish the photos I will do it...but for now, click on the link and enjoy!  (And for those of you who know how to disable the right click feature....PLEASE don't do it.  These are my personal photos.  Honor system people!)

4/4/05 - Hi all!  Just a few "thoughts" from me to you!

First, I just wanted to thank everyone who has signed my guestbook and to also thank everyone for their kind encouragement and support!  (A special thanks to those who run other sites...your patience and kindness is appreciated!)  I apologize to anyone who has posted on the guestbook and no longer sees their entry.  Unfortunately, as I state below, I'm new to this website business and...well...I'm still working out some bugs!  One of those is the guestbook.  For some reason, it will only display 10 entries...but I'm working on it, and nothing has been deleted (that wasn't meant to be deleted).

Second, for people who have been to the site before, you may notice that the "Links" page has been removed from the Navigation Bar.  This does not mean that the links are gone, however!  Simply scroll down to the bottom of this page where you will find the links in their "temporary" home.  As I said, I'm still working on this site and, changing things around just comes with the territory.  If you have an opinion one way or the other, be sure to let me know, either in the guestbook or by emailing me.

Third, I'm trying to get the "In My Opinion" page going.  As such, I'm working on my opinion of "The Mountain" (figured might as well start with the most recent production...right?!).  So if you have any opinion on this show, I would appreciate your emailing it to me.  I'm not looking for butt kissing here.  Whether you did or did not like the show, let me know and I will post your reply.  (Please be advised though, that since this is my site, and since I am responsible for the content, any "slamming" of a personal nature will be edited.)  If you don't like a particular actor/director/writer/producer, that is your perogative.  What I'm looking for is honest opinions on the show itself.  Constructive criticism works best in my opinion.  I would also like to hear from people that have seen "The Agency" and "Cover Me".  As I have not, as of yet, seen these shows, I'd like someone else to start us off.  So if you have opinions on these shows, let me know also!

Fourth (and finally!), I know I've said this before, but I'm still getting inquiries (and a guestbook entry which was deleted) pertaining to Mr. Cassidy's personal life.  So I'm going to state my position again.  I WILL NOT POST PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT MR. CASSIDY OR HIS FAMILY ON THIS SITE!  If I do, it will be at my discretion (and I don't think that will happen).  The man is entitled to his privacy!
