Wendy's Home Daycare

        
Welcome to my Daycare. I am Wendy, an English nanny and Mother of 4.
I am located in Durham Region. Scugog and Longworth, Bowmanville.

First of all here is a little about me;

My decision to look after children started when I was 15 and got my first job as a babysitter. The little girl was 9 weeks old and became my God daughter.
At school in England I took an exam called The National Association for Maternal and Child Welfare (N.A.M.C.W), passing with top marks.
I became a nanny after leaving school and in 1990 decided to broaden my horizons and applied for a job in Canada, to work for a family who are now very close to me and who are a big part of my life.
I was a nanny until I got married in 1995.
I started doing at home daycare in 2003, when my third child was 10 months old.

My home is an extension to yours and I like to think that the children in my care come to my house for "playdays" not "daycare" in the way it is seen. I do have crafts and toys available, of course, and the children are always supervised, but I am at home because I want to be with my children, and having yours here also lets them benefit by being in an environment that is not "schooly". Children of pre-school age learn through play, and that is what my home is full of.

Children are the future for all of us and I love to help them have fun. Life is too short not to have a lot of fun while you are young.
