Santtu and Otto enjoyed excessive and unreserved pampering by Mama's relatives while Mama worked long hours. On her free time, Mama often visited Otto's breeder and played with Siberian kittens. These visits ultimately led to a fostering contract. Amante's Jazzing Jewel, called Taika, lives with us but stays under her breeder's ownership until she has had her first litter. Such an arrangement, referred to as fostering or hosting, is an excellent way for a breeder to continue the line without keeping too many cats at the home cattery. The host, guided by an experienced breeder, gains valuable experience of raising a litter before taking on the responsibilities and challenges of breeding. Taika checks out the photo of great-grandmother Vesha (WCH Vesta Valenvic) Taika conquered her new home immediately. She had already wrought her Magic on her new human servant - thereby earning her nickname - and one look of her beautiful eyes ensorcelled the tomcats. Now I understand why female cats are referred to as queens. Santtu and Otto obey Her Majesty without much question, and evidently Her Majesty also expects her human servant to dance to her sweetly chittering tune. As a rule, the little queen and the human servant get along splendidly, but there is one point of constant contention. The insolent human refuses to let the feline queen lick butter off her toast. What lèse-majesté! The bed is conquered. Favoured subject gets to share Her Majesty's mattress.
