Breeding principles
FIN*Talvivaaran (=Winterfell's) cattery was registered under FIFe 5th July 2006. The first litter of the cattery was born at the end of October 2008.
All my breeding cats will be tested for FeLV and FIV regularly for as long as they are kept fertile. All their "dates" are also required to have tested FeLV and FIV negative prior to mating. My cattery is also regularly tested for the microsporum canis infection. The latest test was taken 17/12/2007, with negative result.
My cats are tested regularly by ultrasonography for the hereditary heart disease HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy). The testing is done following the recommendations of the PawPeds health programme, and cats diagnosed with HCM are not used in breeding. I also support Siberian HCM genetic research. HCM is the most common heart disease in cats and it occurs in all cat breeds, but it has not been researched for very long and its inheritance in the Siberian cat is not yet known. This is why testing by ultrasound is very important.

Otto became a father for the first time on April 7th, 2007. His and Minttu's (CH FIN*Alizarin After Midnight) daughter FIN*Kestilinnan Amaze is very cuddly and talkative, and participates in everything possible and impossible - just like her daddy!
Otto became a daddy again on March 24th, 2008. Cuddly Claudia (GIC FIN*Amurin Claudia) birthed eight wee Siberians. Check out the website of FIN*Amurin cattery! Otto and Claudia's daughter Golda and son Gideon have done well at shows.
In May 2008, Otto met a pretty and sweet-natured Siberian girl called Elli (CH S*Zaroya's Ella) from Sweden. Their meeting was successful and resulted in the birth of a litter on July 9th. Three mackerel-striped kittens were born at S*Tricaliz cattery on Sweden's western coast. Otto and Elli's son S*Tricaliz Eddie is IDP Nordic Winner-08!
Otto's fourth litter is the first litter of FIN*Talvivaaran and was born at the very end of October 2008. The mother of the litter is Russian import female Flora Sibaris*RU. See the litter's own page for more information!
